Even though PlayStation warned us there would be no big launches from its tentpole franchises in 2024, its year will be remembered for games that were expected to be smaller hits but blew up like Astro Bot and Helldivers 2. It will also be remembered for what might be the biggest flop in its history Concord, and now that merch for the game has disappeared much like the game itself, PlayStation has come closer to scrubbing every trace of it from existence.
Concord launched over the summer and was shut down two weeks later. Not just shut down, but everyone who paid for a copy received a refund. It was evident PlayStation expected big things from its newest live service title as shortly after it was shut down, it pressed on with the line of Concord merch it had created to sell on the PlayStation Gear Store.

I still think Concord’s weekly story vignettes were a cool idea.
Midway through September, Concord got a hoodie, a hat, a t-shirt, and a mug. Clearly items created before the game was released and shut down. People have presumably been gradually chipping away at whatever stock of the four items PlayStation created thinking it had the next live service hit on its hands, and three months later, all four items have now disappeared from its Gear Store.

Wario64 was the first to spot that Concord merch is no longer available via PlayStation, but it’s not clear if it all sold out or sales dried up to the point that PlayStation simply decided to remove it all. There was a point when the beanie hat had what was effectively a countdown timer on its store page since there wasn’t much stock of it left. I don’t recall seeing that countdown on any of the other items in the collection.
I would know too as I frequently checked the range in an attempt to buy one of the hoodies. The collection never made it to the UK so I was unsuccessful in my efforts, but if anyone knows where I can buy one, let me know in the comments below.
Even though the game has been shut down, refunds issued, and merch removed, there is still one last hurrah for Concord. The failed hero shooter has its own Secret Level episode, another indicator that PlayStation envisioned a lot more for the game. The Concord episode is now available to watch on Amazon Prime after the second half of its debut season arrived on the platform on Tuesday.

Concord is an upcoming FPS from Firewalk Studios, part of the PlayStation Studios family. A PvP multiplayer title, it is slated for launch on both PS5 and PC in 2024.
