Less than a month after its incredibly successful release, Marvel Rivals is coming out with a brand-new Winter update, and with it comes five skins, one of which is completely free of charge. In keeping with the festive spirit, each of the skins has a Christmas theme which makes them all very vibrant and eye-catching, and there’s no doubt they will be making regular appearances on the battlefield once this update arrives.

However, while all of them bring something new to the table, there’s no doubt some of the skins in this offering stand out a little more than the others, and that’s exactly what this topic will be focusing on today. 5 Magik

Magik Drops The Fantasy Aesthetic For More Of A Cozy Look

A skin that may go under the radar for a lot of players, but that still deserves some attention is Magik’s new winter outfit. Magik drops the fantasy aesthetic for more of a cozy fit that sees her throwing on a pair of blue joggers alongside a striped jacket and a wooly hat to top it off. While it might seem like a complete makeover, there are still a few subtle references to Magik’s original look that remind players she is not a character to be messed with.

The most obvious example of this is the large spiky shoulder pad that can be seen peeking through her jacket, along with the two horns reaching from the top of her head. Magik’s sword also gets an update here, looking more industrial and sturdy than before. Overall, it’s a great new addition to the game, but it doesn’t quite match up to the others arriving as part of the newest update.

4 Rocket Raccoon

There’s a lot to love about this new costume change for everyone’s favorite raccoon, but one aspect of the skin that immediately stands out is the color palette. Pairing red and white together not only gives off fun Christmas vibes but also allows Rocket to pop out from the screen thanks to how striking his design looks.

A special shout-out also needs to go to the Santa hat resting on top of Rocket’s head, somehow managing to make this violent and reckless furball appear somewhat endearing. While Rocket can also be seen wearing spiked shoes to help him navigate his way through the snow, he still possesses the beady red eyes that were given to his original design, just to make sure he doesn’t end up looking too cuddly and innocent.

3 Jeff The Land Shark

One Of The Cutest Characters In The Game Just Became All The More Endearing

Jeff has already been one of, if not the most popular character in Marvel Heroes, but now, he’ll be showing up more often with this creative outfit that sees him wrapping up warm for the winter holidays. The stylish black jacket, multicolored visor, and small white mittens that wrap around his feet result in an adorable skin for the lovable shark, which is packed full of small details.

Another nice touch to this outfit is how Jeff’s signature name tag has been replaced by a scarf that also contains small shark symbols around each side. While the other skins will only be available for purchase, Geff’s winter outfit is completely free of charge, so at least he won’t look quite as terrifying when trying to gobble up the entire enemy team before throwing them off the map.

A Terrifyingly Festive Look That Manages To Somehow Make Venom Look Even More Intimidating

NetEase went all out when designing this frosty skin for Venom. Though mixing Venom with Christmas might seem impossible, this skin does an excellent job at still feeding into the jolly spirit with the icicles and snowflake patterns, while still making Venom look as scary as ever, especially with that intimidating facial expression.

Rather than simply flipping the color of Venom’s spider symbol, the designers instead decided to add an ice crystal in the middle while the legs that stretch in each direction fade from blue to black. Of course, the horns on Venom’s head are another stand-out of this design, which seems to have been inspired by Krampus, but end up looking both terrifying and badass when attached to Venom.

Groot’s Christmas Tree-Themed Skin Is Packed Full Of Small Details And Is A Joy To Look At For Festive Fans

Simply put, Groot’s winter skin is a visual treat for anyone who loves the warm and nostalgic sight of Christmas lights, trees, and decorations. Modeled as a living tree, this skin sees Groot’s entire body wrapped around with baubles and lights that will continue to flash on and off during a match. He also possesses a wooly beard, and even a pair of small ornaments inside his chest, which can be spotted when looking closely.

That’s not all though, as this skin is also fitted with candy canes, stockings, Mantis toys, and even a cute doll in the shape of Rocket, which is strapped to each of his hands. Overall, this jaw-dropping outfit is without a doubt one of the most visually impressive and detailed in the game right now, and if future costumes are expected to also look this good, then Marvel Rivals fans are in for a real treat.
