Path of Exile 2 does a great job of letting players freely build their characters. The number of choices each class has can be overwhelming and confusing, giving the game a big learning curve. Thankfully, the more you read and experiment, the more you can be versatile with your build.
Not only that, but this system gives Path of Exile 2 a lot of replayability, as you’ll always want to test what a class would do if it was mixed with different set of skills and passives.

Path Of Exile 2: 7 Things You Should Know Before Buying Early Access
Players may be on the fence about diving into the Early Access version of Path of Exile 2. Here’s what fans should know.
Witch Passive Skill Tree In Path of Exile 2
Passive skill trees can be intimidating at first because of the insane amount of passive skills you can upgrade. However, with a second more in-depth look, it’s a very simple skill Tree that does a great job of giving you more options to build your character no matter what class you choose.
The Witch excels in using spells to deal physical and chaos damage. So, you need to target any passive skill that upgrades spell, physical, and chaos damage. On top of that, you also need to upgrade critical hits chance and damage for spells as this class has a lot of spells that can crit.
The best way to level the Witch in the early game is by making sure to upgrade physical and critical damage to maximize the damage of the Bonestorm spell. Start by going to the Raw Destruction passive skill, which increases spell damage by 16%. After that, split your way into targeting Jagged Shards and Practiced Signs to increase cast speed, physical damage, and critical hits for spells.

Path of Exile 2: Is There Level Scaling
Level scaling is a key aspect when playing with your friends in Path of Exile 2; here’s how it works and what it does.
Keep going up from the Practiced Signs path to reach the Critical Overload, which further buffs the Witch’s critical hits for spells. Take a short right path just to upgrade spell damage through the Potent Incantation passive skill.
For the real path, keep going up, targeting the Sudden Escalation passive skill to increase both critical hits for spells and cast speed. This should be enough to build a crazy amount of damage to each one of your Bonestorm spells in Path of Exile 2. You can keep going after to upgrade more physical and critical hits by targeting passive skills like Cut the Bones, Blood Tearing, and Shredding Force.
Best Witch Skills In Path of Exile 2
Contagion and Bone Cage are the best early-game damage dealers for Witch in Path of Exile 2. Contagion grants enemies a DoT chaos damage that spreads among them when they die. Soon enough, their entire groups will be infected with Contagion, and you’ll see a swarm of suffering enemies coming at you.
As for Bone Cage, while it’s only useful in the melee range, it works perfectly to stop a swarm of enemies from reaching your character while dealing some decent damage. Bone Cage deals physical damage that can crit, which perfectly scales with the stats you’re building through the Witch’s passive skill tree in Path of Exile 2.
Once you can get level 7 skills, go for Bonestorm as it’s the core damage dealer in this Witch build in Path of Exile 2. It takes a while to cast the spell but once the Witch unleashes it, it will shred enemies to pieces. It’s so overpowered, it can take down a boss in four to five attacks. Upgrading cast speed from the passive skill tree massively makes a difference when it comes to casting Bonestorm as it makes the Witch able to summon more Bone Spikes faster. Of course, Bonestorm also deals physical damage and can crit, which makes it even better as a core skill for any physical Witch build.
Finally, since the Witch’s core skills are physical damage dealers, it’s only fitting to add a curse that allows players to ignore enemies’ Armour. Upgrading Vulnerability grants the ability to do that for a few seconds, which is enough to launch at least two Bonestorm spells.
For extra skills, launching spells that need casting time will make the character vulnerable for a while. For that, it’s good to get defensive minions that will hold their line as the Witch charges her attacks. This makes Raise Zombies and Skeletal Warriors a perfect choice since they’ll swarm enemies back and the scene will turn into a battle scene instead of just running around shooting dead things.
After unlocking Bonestorm, Contagion will slowly fall off since you have a better spell. However, later in mid-game, you can unlock Dark Effigy to create a totem that shoots chaos damage at enemies affected by the Contagion infection. This is a great spell to have in the Witch’s arsenal since it can crit and has no cooldown between its hits, resulting in each totem potentially hitting hundreds of shots that can crit. Those two chaos spells don’t take away from the physical build, since it takes 2 to 3 seconds to set them up and run automatically.
Witch Stats In Path of Exile 2
Without a doubt, Intelligence is the core stat of the Witch since the class needs it to wield Wands and Sceptres in addition to unlocking spells in Path of Exile 2. Not to mention, the class heavily relies on Mana, and Intelligence is the stat that raises total Mana. At the start of the game, you need around 20 Intelligence to be able to work with the Witch’s skills and gears.

Path of Exile 2: How to Get Raging Spirits
Raging Spirits is an incredibly powerful skill in Path of Exile 2; here’s how to get and use it.
Once you reach Act 2, you’ll need to increase Intelligence to around 55 as this is the mid-game area where you’ll have access to many of the mid-game Uncut Skill Gems in Path of Exile 2. Eventually, you’ll have to reach around 120 Intelligence to be able to use and unlock everything related to the Witch in Path of Exile 2.
As for the secondary stats, you can always go for more Strength as it increases life, which gives more sustainability. Additionally, many of the Witch’s support gems require either Strength or Intelligence points, giving Strength more importance over Dexterity.
Finally, early and mid-game minions aren’t able to deal crazy damage like the actual Witch, so, it’s better to build their sustainability to endure more hits and protect the Witch. That makes support gems like the Meat Shield and Last Gasp important to have on minions as it further increases their sustainability. Moreover, you can build the Raise Zombie skill with the Minion Instability support gem to make them explode when near death, dealing damage based on their total HP, giving their high HP extra use.
