Win a GeForce RTX 4080 Super and copy of Diablo 4, thanks to Nvidia

If a free Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super graphics card and a copy of Diablo 4 sounds like a tempting combination, Nvidia has the giveaway for you. With the company celebrating 25 years since the debut of the first GPU, the GeForce 256, it is running a series of “Mystery Box” prize giveaways, and the latest box has just been opened, revealing an incredible prize package.

With the RTX 4080 Super being one of the best graphics card options available right now, it’s this Nvidia GPU that is the most covetable part of the prize, but there’s plenty more as well. The winner will also receive a Collector’s Edition copy of Diablo 4, a Diablo 3 chess set, a sealed copy of Diablo 2, and, perhaps most interestingly, a signed GeForce 256 GPU.

The GeForce 256 can legitimately claim to be the first GPU ever, as Nvidia actually coined the term when it launched. Graphics cards had existed before but the graphics processing unit as a single chip concept was birthed with this card. You can read more about the history of the card and what it meant for gaming at the time in our GeForce 256 retrospective.

The exact date of the 25th anniversary milestone of the GeForce 256 was a few months ago, but Nvidia is choosing the build up to what’s expected to be the launch of its RTX 5000 series of graphics cards at CES 2025 next month to really drive home the celebration. In the case of the card in this giveaway, it will also be signed by Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, and adorned in a frame for you to hang on your wall. We can’t help but wonder where Nvidia has been storing these relics all this time…

As for how to be in with a chance of bagging this incredible prize package, all you need to do is reply to the GeForce X (formerly Twitter) account with a core memory about Diablo, using the hashtag #GeForceGreats.

The prize draw announcement has no direct terms and conditions attached to it. If you head to Nvidia’s website, there are two T&Cs for competitions. These detail which countries are eligible, but don’t make any direct reference to the Diablo-themed giveaway.

Nvidia’s big giveaways aren’t over, however. This is just the first of a series of mystery box giveaways, with the company saying all of them have a “nostalgic twist”.

The other boxes feature multiple other developers, so we can expect to see more prizes related to Bethesda (featuring either The Elder Scrolls or DOOM), CD Projekt Red (The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077), 2K (Borderlands or Civilization), and Remedy (Alan Wake or Control). The Blizzard box did feature a World of Warcraft logo but didn’t include any WoW items in its giveaway.

Nvidia is planning on running these contests until January 6, which coincides with its CES press conference. There, we should see more about the RTX 5090, as well as a tonne of other tech news from different manufacturers. It’s anticipated that new additions to the best PC gaming handhelds will also join the fray, as AMD is poised to release new mobile chips.
