>afraid to try something new
>literally took years off to reinvent the franchise and only released 3 games in that style so far (AC games)
>Watchdogs 3 created a new player character system nobodies ever done before.
Because when people on the interenet say they want something new and they get it they are ungratful. “Something new” tends to mean, unrecognizably different which just abandons what people might have liked about the original thing. It ceases to be the same thing anymore. Maybe you just need to play something new instead of telling them to do it for you.
There are pillars to games, the things that identifies them and if they change they become something else, they don’t do something “New” they become a different thing. Every game in the AC franchise has iterated and evolved there is several things new in each game, every one of them.
And i’ll definitely take this over waiting 8 years to get a sequel to the thing I liked just to get some illusion of massive change. Look at the Assasin’s Creed released when Last of Us first released and the Ac that released when TLoU2 released, they are incredibility different.
Are you the new version of yourself, does it feel that way? Or did you make small changes over time that when you look back a decade you realize you’ve become something familiar but not the same
