Unfortunately, this player was unlucky on that front but managed to gain more than they bargained for.

Pokemon TCG Pocket was released in October 2024 by Creatures Inc., DeNA, and The Pokemon Company, which offers a digital version of the popular tabletop trading card game. Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Mythical Island expansion is brimming with secret missions, and the extra content also includes brand-new rare cards with beautiful artwork.

Posted on Reddit by taqueiro, a screenshot was posted on the Pokemon TCG Pocket subreddit, showcasing five cards pulled from a booster pack opening. To everyone’s surprise, the pack was full of frog-like, Water-type Pokemon, including Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Froakie, and Frogadier. Evolving Poliwag in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a straightforward affair, but this player was lucky enough to get the tadpole’s evolution handed to them, alongside a Froakie freebie. Even though the booster pack contained no rarities, the uncommon occurrence of pulling nothing but frog-like Pokemon is one to be noted.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Player Pulls a Frog Pack

Redditors’ replies to the frog pack were nothing short of spectacular, responding with a sea of “Ribbit” comments. Pokemon TCG Pocket offers rare God Packs, which are booster packs full of special cards like holographic, ultra-rare, or high-rarity pulls, and the player was quick to make the clever substitution of a God Pack for a Frog Pack. Another player shared a similar pack opening they experienced, where they received five Dragon-like cards. Furthermore, fans saw this as an opportunity to make a “Frog Deck,” and wondered if a “Dawg” pack would ever manifest, including Growlithe and Arcanine cards.

Several Pokemon designs are based on frogs, including Tympole and Tadbulb, but the community agreed that pulling five of these pocket monsters in one pack was “ribbiting.” Additionally, one fan noted they were a self-proclaimed Pokemon Master, but admitted they never noticed that Poliwag’s evolution line was frog-based.
