A festive Winter Celebration is set to arrive in Marvel Rivals, bringing with it an exciting new 5v5 game mode, holiday-themed character skins, and a free costume for Jeff the Land Shark to the current season.
For the game’s first holiday event, NetEase Games is preparing something special to delight fans of Jeff and other iconic characters.
The Winter Celebration event will feature a limited-time mode and exclusive costumes for popular heroes like Groot, Venom, and Rocket Raccoon, adding a festive twist to the gameplay. So, here’s a look at what players can look forward to during this holiday-themed event.
Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration date and time
Marvel Rivals’ official post on X (previously Twitter) has confirmed that the Winter Celebration event will start on Thursday, December 19 at 11 pm PST and ends on January 9.
This means the event will run for three weeks in total, giving you enough time to participate in the new game mode and earn all the rewards from it.
Marvel Rivals’ winter event brings a new mode
As part of the Winter Celebration, players can dive into a brand-new mode called Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival. This 4v4 game mode challenges participants to paint the map in a chaotic battle reminiscent of Splatoon.

All Winter Celebration holiday skins
The Winter Celebration event also introduces a lineup of holiday-themed skins for several beloved characters: Groot, Jeff the Land Shark, Magik, Rocket Raccoon, and Venom will all sport fresh, festive looks.
Groot transforms into a Christmas tree complete with a Santa beard, while Jeff is decked out in goggles and earmuffs. Magik looks ready to hit the slopes in ski gear, Rocket follows suit with his winter-themed attire, and Venom takes on an icy appearance.
As a bonus, every participant in the event will receive Jeff’s holiday costume completely free. Additionally, players can anticipate a “special winter greeting card” from Jeff, packed with gifts to celebrate the festive season.
