With the release of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.15, FFXIV players are celebrating the return of Eorzea’s gentleman detective Hildibrand Manderville, as he returns for the Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures quest series in Dawntrail.
The Hildibrand questline has been a staple of FFXIV since before A Realm Reborn, giving players some comic relief from the often serious, world-ending stakes the main story quest provides. But just how do you unlock these new Hildibrand Adventures, and what kind of other quests and unlocks will you have needed to tick off before you enjoy the new quests? Here’s a breakdown of how to unlock the Dawntrail Hildibrand Quests.

How To Unlock The FFXIV Dawntrail Hildibrand Quests
To start the Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures quest line, head to Tuliyollal (X:14.5 Y:12.5) and speak to Nashu Mhakaracca. That will start the “The Case of the Displaced Inspector” quest, the first in the new questline.
You’ll need to be a Disciple of War or Magic level 100, and have completed the last main scenario quest of Dawntrail, as well as all previous Hildibrand adventures.

Stormblood
- A Hingan Tale: Nashu Goes East – Kugane (X:10.6, Y:9.8), Level 70
Shadowbringers
There were no Hildibrand Adventures in Shadowbringers, although under special circumstances he would appear as an easter egg in one dungeon.
Endwalker
- The Sleeping Gentleman – Radz-at-Han (X:11.8, Y:11.2), Level 90
Dawntrail
- The Case of the Displaced Inspector – Tuliyollal (X:14.5 Y:12.5), Level 100
