Astro Bot gives players control of the titular robot as it travels across different worlds to put its ship back together, which just happens to be a PlayStation 5. On top of the multiple stages in the game’s main campaign, there are plenty of side stages for players to complete on the way to getting 100 percent in the game.

Even with completing everything in the game and earning the Platinum Trophy, developer Team Asobi added speedrunning levels as DLC, including the first one known as Building Speed, which comes with two new bots to collect.
Building Speed Walkthrough
As soon as you enter the stage and land from your DualSense ship, you will be placed on the starting point in Building Speed. From there, you will get the Bulldog Dash power-up and then immediately a timer will start to count down from three.
Once this hits zero, it’s off to the races for this level. If you fall anytime in the stage or just choose to restart, you will always start from the point where the timer starts counting down.
To start, run forward and then make the leap at the end of the platform. As long as you jump at the end, you should be able to just hover and make it to the next platform, but it is recommended that you use the Bulldog Dash move to get you there a little quicker.
Also, by using the Bulldog Dash, you should be able to propel yourself directly onto the trampoline found on the next platform to continue forward.
Continue up these next platforms by jumping and using the trampolines when necessary if you’re trying to be careful, or you can use the Bulldog Dash to get up them quicker. After making it to the top, use the Bulldog Dash to barrel through the boxes ahead of you.
For this next section, you have to make your way across two hanging balance beams with a glass platform that very quickly breaks upon you even landing on it, so be very careful not to fall here.
Once again, use your Bulldog Dash after the second beam to break through the boxes in your way.
Now, you will have to use your Bulldog Dash again right away, as the hill with arrows directly in front of you is too steep to just walk up.
You can technically just jump a few times to get up it, but the Bulldog Dash is the much faster method.
After making your way up the hill, you have a few more of the breakable glass platforms ahead of you, so quickly make your way across them and use the Bulldog Dash to hit the large square trampoline in front of you.
This will launch you upward to a new platform where you will then find more of these square trampolines to your left and right.
You can aim towards the first one on either the left or right and use your power-up to make your way across to the next platform, which is made of glass. This means you have to move very quickly upon landing, or you will fall through and have to start the entire level over.
To avoid this, jump forward and use your Bulldog Dash to quickly make your way past the large car wash-like brushes in your path ahead.
Next, continue down the path and make sure to avoid the lightning square — instead, jump onto the trampoline to move upward. Walk towards the wall ahead and then turn right and use the Bulldog Dash to break through the barrels in your way.
Now, make your way down the next pathway, make a good leap, and use a mix of hover and the Bulldog Dash to land safely on the rotating four-way beams.
This is one of the most difficult sections of the stage due to the minimal space to actually land on, so be very careful when making your way from one set of beams to the other.
After jumping from the second set of beams, hit the trampoline to move upward yet again, and then watch for one of the large square trampolines to appear in front of you as well.
When you see it, use the Bulldog Dash to ram right onto it, and it’ll propel you further up where you can then land on the end platform of the stage.
Rewards
Each of the speedrun stages added post-release for Astro Bot has two additional special Bots for you to find. For Building Speed, the two that you can earn are the Masterless Samurai Bot and the Super Earth Ambassador Bot.
The Masterless Samurai Bot is based on the lead from Rise of the Ronin and can be obtained by beating the stage in 60 seconds, which is signified by the blue bird.
If you managed to beat the stage in 45 seconds though, which is signified by the red bird, you will get the Super Earth Ambassador Bot, which is based off of Helldivers 2.
This one isn’t too difficult to unlock both available bots, but using the Bulldog Dash ability whenever you feel safe to do so is a good strategy to whittle that overall time down.
