Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance launched in June 2021, offering team-based multiplayer in the D&D setting. However, it launched to mixed reviews, something that it didn’t recover from according to the user score on Steam.
Now, a little over three years since its launch, developer Tuque Games is pulling the plug. Dark Alliance won’t be available to purchase from February 24, 2025. The servers will also shut down on that date, making the game only available in single-player.

As spotted by PCGamesN, this announcement comes from an update to Dark Alliance’s description on Steam. Now, the store page carries the following warning:
We will be shutting down (shut down) the Dark Alliance servers on 2/24/2025 and it will no longer be available to purchase starting that day. The base game and all DLC are still available to play in offline single player by anyone who currently owns it.
The warning has since been made available on the PlayStation and Xbox store pages too, confirming that this applies to all platforms. No larger announcement has been made though. In fact, the Twitter page for Dark Alliance hasn’t been updated since it posted about an expansion in March 2022.
This situation is reminiscent of Marvel’s Avengers, which was also delisted about three years after launch. Once again, anyone who bought the game was able to keep playing, but you can’t purchase it anymore.
In our review, Featured Editor Eric Switzer gave Dark Alliance a 2/5. While praising some of the combat mechanics and animations, he was critical of its online play, and described the enemies you go up against as “dull” and “lifeless”. At the time of this announcement, Dark Alliance still has mixed reviews on Steam, so it seems to have failed to impress after launch.
