Summary
- It’s safe to expect more remasters of past “Tales of” games in the future.
- That’s because Bandai Namco has confirmed its dedication to bringing over older titles, having even established a dedicated team.
- So far, Symphonia and Vesperia have been brought to current hardware, with Graces f set for release next January.
The remasters of past “Tales of” games aren’t going anywhere. If anything, the endeavor appears to be full steam ahead. As revealed during Bandai Namco’s dedicated Tales of Series 30th Anniversary Project Special Broadcast, series producer Yusuke Tomizawa revealed that more remasters are coming and that a “dedicated” development team for remasters has been established.
In a quote transcribed by Gematsu, Tomizawa said that Bandai Namco would:
“Provide [remastered Tales of titles] fairly consistently,”
And that the company “intends to continue doing so as much as possible.” Those sentiments seem to echo what was originally revealed back in 2023, when a Bandai Namco FAQ revealed the openness to further remasters.

More Tales Of, Yes Please
For reference, the Tales of series has been around since 1995, beginning with Tales of Phantasia on the SNES. Since then, the franchise has managed to produce 17 mainline games up through the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series generation, including titles on the PS Vita and Nintendo DS.
That said, like a lot of classic titles, many are stranded on older hardware, including some particularly critically acclaimed titles. Beginning with a remaster of Tales of Vesperia, a title that was originally on the Xbox 360, then a remaster of Tales of Symphonia, a once Gamecube-exclusive title, Bandai Namco began changing that accessibility.
The next installment in the “remaster” series will be Tales of Graces f, a Wii game that was released back in 2009. That game is slated for release on January 17 for every platform.
Back in July, it was rumored that Tales of Xillia, a PS3-exclusive pair of titles, was the next in line to be brought forward. That information came by way of a storefront listing in Europe, with even some box art.
At this time, it’s unclear what the next game to be remastered will be, but if those long-standing rumors prove true, then a Xillia twin pack could be on the way. Of course, there is no shortage of titles that could be ripe for a re-release, including the Vita version of Tales of Hearts or even Tales of Eternia.
