9 Heroes Who Should Be Added To Marvel Rivals

With an amazing launch and a fun play rotation, Marvel Rivals is one of the best Marvel-based games out there. With so many fan favorite characters and deep cut references, NetEase Games have done a wonderful job with the cast of Heroes found within the game.

This begs the question, however, who could we see getting added next? You may feel like some of Marvel’s best villains and superheroes are missing from the lineup and so do we. With thousands of characters to choose from in both the cinematic and comic universe, we must let our most wanted characters be heard.

Deadpool

A Durable Duelist With Many Jokes Up His Sleeve

A beloved character with a huge fan base and the potential to be assigned any role, there are plenty of reasons for Deadpool’s inclusion. Coming loaded with his firearms and his iconic katanas would make it easy to fit him in as a Duelist Hero with high survivability.

Being resilient to death by using self-healing and toughening abilities would allow him to be amazing for rushing in alone. You may think that Deadpool would end up as a joke character due to his nature to crack jokes and make serious situations hilarious. NetEase Games could use this to its advantage to create a Hero who is unique and wacky in their play style.

She-Hulk

A Strategist With A Strong Twist On The Role

With Hulk being part of the roster since day one, we begin to wonder when his cousin will be added. She-Hulk has plenty of unique abilities to work with that would set her apart from Hulk. She could even fit into the Strategist role, especially with her lawyer background.

Seeing how super strength and durability could be worked into a Strategist role would be interesting. She-Hulk could be a very strong Strategist who pushes what the role can do for their team in a new way. Some of her moves could involve using the ground to her advantage, shooting dust to cloud enemies’ screens or sound blasts, causing all sound to be temporarily blocked for them. NetEase Games can even use She-hulk’s TV Show appearance as a reference costume and inspiration for her abilities.

Ant-Man

An Excellent Vanguard For Small And Big Reasons

Ant-Man stuck in a hole trying to learn his suit's abilities.

Straight away, you can see Ant-Man fitting right into the game as a great Vanguard with both damage-absorbing abilities and flanking potential all through his size-based abilities. Having him be able to shift between three different sizes to change his movement speed, health, and hitboxes would be something that stands out from the cast.

This would not just make him a very annoying character to kill but an effective Vanguard with a simple yet dynamic play style. This would mainly involve flanking while being small and then catching backline Heroes off-guard.

6

Quicksilver

The Fastest Duelist Around

As far as heroes go, Quicksilver has to be the fastest around. Speed and a tiny health pool would make Quicksilver a great fit as a flanking-focused Duelist who can quickly annoy enemies by racing into their backlines to distract and solo out any Strategists. With him being Scarlet Witch’s twin brother, it would be interesting to see whether they make him the complete opposite of her or make them complement each other alongside a strong Team-Up ability.

His fast Hero style may lead to Quicksilver being one of your least favorite characters to fight against, but we know NetEase Games will find a way to balance out this in-and-out rat of a character. Knowing other hero-shooters, he would be easily countered by anyone with good aim or good teamwork protecting their Strategists.

5

Spider-Gwen

A Strategist To Complete The Spider-People Group

Having two Spider-People characters already on the roster leaves a plethora more to add. Seeing Spider-Gwen in her Spider-Verse incarnation as a Strategist would give us a Spider-Person for each role.

Unfortunately, she may become a costume for Spider-Man. Marvel Rivals has some of the most detailed skins that go all out on the details. If we end up seeing Gwen as one, you can rest knowing it will do her justice. Spider-Gwen has the potential for her own set of abilities, and with how popular she is, it would be a shame for her to be just a costume.

4

The Thing

A Flexible Vanguard With Tough Strength

With The Fantastic Four being brought back into relevancy in 2025 with First Steps, you can bet that we will see one of them appearing in Rivals. We would love to see The Thing the most, given his ability to change between human and monster form for an excellent Vanguard.

His “Thing” form would work similarly to a slower Hero like Groot, who is able to take less damage due to his tough body. He could also have the power to create shock waves or even stone pillars to use as cover. Switching between both forms would allow for a flexible Vanguard who can pose a threat and quickly move around.

3

Captain Marvel

A Frail Yet Strong Star Duelist

Being considered one of Marvel’s strongest is not an easy title to hold, but Captain Marvel has dominated the title for a long time. Having superhuman abilities combined with her genetics, she is not to be messed with and can come out of grueling battles unharmed.

We could see her being a Duelist who focuses on using her abilities to deal massive damage but having a small health pool. This would be complimented by self-damaging abilities, which are counteracted by her ability to absorb opponents’ health and recover on her own. Having a glass cannon-like play style would perfectly fit her overconfident personality.

2

Vision

A Synthetic Strategist With Adaptability

Often forgotten despite his strength and power, Vision is a great pick for a future Strategist. With the Mind Infinity Stone, there are lots of ways he could help support allies or act as a less effective Vanguard. His ability to manipulate his own body could lead to some interesting abilities.

Some of these could be phasing through walls or gaining damage reduction, leading to an adaptable Hero. We could also see him being able to reveal an opponent’s location and Ultimate charge by landing an ability. Vision has a lot of potential with his many appearances across the Marvel Universe.

1

Blade

A Duelist Who Will Hunt Down Any Foes

Blade Promotional Image For Marvel's Blade (Video Game, 2025).

Blade is one of Marvel’s coolest heroes, and his half-vampire abilities allow for a creative ability set. From slashing foes to using his firearms to attack from afar, Blade does not need much creativity to work extremely well as an exciting Duelist Hero.

Using various vampire hunting tools alongside his silver sword, he could be another long-range Hero who focuses on hindering opponents, then quickly closing the distance to kill. He could use some garlic ammo as an area of effect ability that lingers on the ground and slows anyone who enters it for a period of time. Perhaps it could also cause a damage increase to allow him to better deal with any Vanguards.
