SpongeBob Fortnite Collabs Comes to Game with Creative Maps

Fortnite has tons of collabs, but one of the most requested might be SpongeBob Fortnite. This crossover is one that players have been anticipating for quite a while. We’ve already seen major collabs or SpongeBob in other games, but how exactly does it fit into Fortnite? We’re getting some answers this week with the launch of a new SpongeBob Fortnite collab.

This latest crossover has just gotten a major trailer. However, this isn’t a Fortnite collab that’s coming to the item shop like normal. Instead, it’s a crossover taking advantage of the new UEFN tools for Fortnite. While we’re not quite getting the skins players might like there are some exciting bits coming to the game.

What’s coming with the SpongeBob Fortnite content? These are Unreal maps, so usually not an official collaboration with Epic. We’ve seen offer franchises do this in the past, like a Star Trek map and Tetris one. It’s essentially the same as a creator making a map, but with some third-party content allowed this time. These are the features coming with the SpongeBob Fortnite collab:

Only Up has been a breakout for Fortnite maps, with “homages” to the popular game taking over quite a bit of the popular maps list. This is a Bikini Bottom version of it. It’s an only up journey through a SpongeBob themed world.

Slap Fight is another map with a more combative twist. It’s a versus map where players can fight in teams. Although, it’s still got some light-hearted SpongeBob twists.

Another of the new maps is Bikini Bottom Prop hunt. It’s a game mode that’s popular in lots of different titles. Here, you’re playing in the world of SpongeBob though. This might even end up one of the best Fortnite prop hunt modes in the future.

SpongeBob Red vs Blue

Another take on a Fortnite classic, Red Vs Blue is the most popular form of Team Deathmatch on the platform. This is basically that but with SpongeBob elements! It might not be as good for experience as the best Fortnite XP maps though.

Those are the three maps coming for the SpongeBob Fortnite content. There’ll be some good opportunities to play some classic Fortnite modes here, but with a bit of a twist. It isn’t quite a SpongeBob skin in the game, although one of those could still arrive. It might be tricky to get them to fit in Fortnite hitboxes, but it would definitely be a fun addition.
