If you’re on the hunt for a last-minute holiday gift for yourself or a loved one, this Logitech G Pro X wireless gaming headset deal could be ideal. With a huge saving of $100, this flagship esports-centric gaming headset is now nearly half price.
As one of the best wireless gaming headsets available, the G Pro X Wireless is laser-focused on nailing the basics, such as comfort and sound quality, without the frills of some other headsets from the Logitech stable, such as the multi-device Astro A50X.
To this end, the G Pro X Lightspeed sports an almost retro design with its simple forked metal earcup holders, chunky earcups and headband, and a microphone that, while detachable, doesn’t stow away into the headset and is topped with a prominent foam wind cover. The whole headset is also finished in plain black, with no RGB lighting to distract from the serious gaming tasks at hand.
Generous padding covers the headband and earcups, for a soft initial feel and excellent long-term comfort. Meanwhile, inside those earcups are 50mm drivers that deliver powerful but precise sound that’s a little light on bass but can be tuned to provide more oomph. You can also turn on DTS: Headphone X virtual 7.1 surround sound technology to provide incredible sonic immersion in games.
As for the microphone, its 6mm cardioid condenser capsule offers excellent overall clarity and range, making for clear comms whether you’re gaming or just chatting with your pals. It also offers BLUE VO!CE, audio enhancement via Logitech’s G Hub software, to help cancel out noise and more. We were particularly impressed by the quality of the microphone in our Logitech G Pro X gaming headset review.
The Logitech G Pro X Wireless has since been updated to the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed, which you can read more about in our Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed review. The key upgrades are the addition of Bluetooth and 3.5mm analog connections, to go with the existing 2.4GHz wireless and USB-C connections of the original. Battery life has also improved to around 40 hours over wireless, compared to around 20 hours for the original.
Those aren’t insignificant feature upgrades, but that’s why the G Pro X 2 Lightspeed still costs $189.99 while today you can pick up the G Pro X Wireless for just $129.99. If you just want a straightforward but high-quality wireless gaming headset, that’s a fantastic price.
