Pokemon Fan Points Out Groudon Detail You Can’t Unsee

A Pokemon fan took to social media to share a comparison of the Legendary monster Groudon and how parts of its body are shaped like a hair trimmer. The Pokemon fan used a meme template to prove their point, and other trainers responded with both amusement and disbelief at a comparison that cannot be unseen.

Known as the Continent Pokemon, Groudon is the box art Legendary of Pokemon Ruby and its 3DS remake, Pokemon Omega Ruby. As a Ground-type Legendary Pokemon, Groudon is the landlocked counterpart to Kyogre, the Water-type Legendary of Pokemon Sapphire. In the Hoenn region, Groudon is stated to have created landmasses and brought about bursts of intense sunlight to dry out anything in its immediate vicinity. Groudon gained a Primal Reversion in Pokemon Omega Ruby, which made it a Ground and Fire dual-type beast that used its Desolate Land ability to negate Water-type moves completely.

Thanks to a couple of different happenings, Tuesday, December 17 is set to be an exciting day for Pokemon TCG Pocket players.

Although Groudon is a formidable Ground-type Pokemon in competitive battles, one Pokemon trainer pointed out something funny about its design. A Reddit user named Ok-Leave3121 shared a meme on the r/Pokemon subreddit in which they compared Groudon’s tail to part of a hair trimmer. The meme in question depicts a man drinking coffee outside and sitting behind a table, asking people to change his mind about a fact or opinion displayed on a sign attached to the table. In their meme, Ok-Leave3121 attached an image of Groudon next to the table, followed by a picture of an electric razor with various hair trimmer accessories, and a statement on the sign that dared other Pokemon trainers to convince them that Groudon’s tail does not look like a hair trimmer.

According to the lore of the Legendary Pokemon of Hoenn, Groudon’s red tail has four curved spikes at the end that it uses along with its claws to dig through deep earth. However, the comparisons between Groudon’s tail and a hair trimmer did not go unnoticed by Pokemon fans. In response to the meme made by Ok-Leave3121, other Reddit users commented that the crown of Groudon’s head also looked similar to a hair trimmer, and others simply stated they could not unsee how Groudon’s tail looks by comparison.

While Groudon remains popular with Pokemon cosplayers and artists, even the legendary Continent Pokemon is not immune to hilarious fan-made memes. It remains to be seen when Groudon will next appear in future Pokemon games.
