Monster Hunter fans have not exactly hidden their love for Final Fantasy 14. The two IPs have had crossovers in the past to the delight of both players and developers. Considering how popular Monster Hunter World became, and how successful Final Fantasy 14 continues to be, it’s unsurprising that the two want to collaborate again for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Capcom’s blockbuster is already attracted hundreds of thousands of people. And that’s just the open beta…

We’ve already seen how players have shown their love for both games in the beta for Monster Hunter Wilds. In a conversation with GamesRadar+ lead battle content designer Masaki Nakagawa said that the team absolutely loves the Monster Hunter series and can’t wait to figure out a collaboration for the upcoming installment of the series.

“There are many fans of the Monster Hunter series within the FF14 team, and I am one of them,” explained Nakagawa. “If we were given the opportunity to do a crossover, we would love to do it, but with the release date for Monster Hunter Wilds almost upon us, we will do our best to enjoy the game first.”

It seems both sides are excited at the prospect of a crossover. “The game designer who handled the battle content for our crossover with Monster Hunter: World has been really motivated even after they finished working on the crossover, saying that if there is a next time, they want to do this and that,” Nakagawa revealed. “So if we can do a crossover, I’m sure we could create something amazing with our overwhelming enthusiasm!”
