Reddit user visionDevAccount2024 shared a post highlighting a reference to Savage Starlight in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet‘s announcement trailer. Right before the scene’s climax when Jordan takes off to a new location in her spaceship, she selects the Pet Shop Boys song It’s a Sin. Before Jordan picks out the track, a CD with the label “Savage Starlight” can be seen in the center of the tray, a direct reference to the fictional Savage Starlight comic series from The Last of Us franchise. This small detail could mean plenty of different things.

The Savage Starlight series has left a legacy as a fun detail from The Last of Us games. Although Ellie is a fan of these comics, the heavy, dramatic moments that take place throughout the games make them seemingly insignificant in the long run. Despite how little the comics impact the story, Savage Starlight can be found in other titles. The image on the CD Jordan owns in Intergalactic is the same image used in the movie poster in Cassie’s bedroom during Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. This could make the importance of this disc a bit more of a mystery. What is known is that, in some capacity, Savage Starlight exists in all of these games.

Some fans are curious about Savage Starlight‘s relevance in Intergalactic. The fact that the comic property shows up in the new game could simply be a classic Naughty Dog Easter egg, or it could exist as proof that the universes these games take place in are linked.
