Wondering what to do with your relics for Ancient Vows in Path of Exile 2? Here, you can learn how to complete this quest.

Completing these quests is always worth it, as you’ll get items that will permanently make your character stronger. Below, we’ll take a look at the Slithering Dead side quest in Act 3, including how to start and complete it, and which of the three rewards you should pick at the end.

The Slithering Dead Quest Walkthrough

The Slithering Dead quest will automatically appear in your quest log when entering the Jungle Ruins in Act 3 for the first time, prompting you to find the source of the Azakh-Kul poison in the area.

To do this, you’ll need to explore around the Jungle Ruins until you find the entrance to the Venom Crypts, which is right beside a Waypoint.

While exploring, you may come across the Mighty Silverfist unique enemy. If you decide to fight it, be careful, as most of its attacks will one-shot you. If you manage to take it down, you’ll get a Book of Specialisation, which rewards you with two Weapon Set skill points.

Once you’ve found the Venom Crypts, enter it and start exploring. This area is fairly large, so it may take some time before you find your objective. You are looking for a Corpse lying on the ground, which is found in an open room just after a Checkpoint.

Inspect the Corpse to get the Corpse-Snake Venom. Now, you can return to Servi in the Ziggurat Encampment to complete the quest and claim your reward.

The Slithering Dead Quest Rewards

Completing this quest will reward you with a choice between three consumable items that each provide a permanent buff to your character. The choices are as follows.

  • Venom Draught of Stone: Grants 25% increased Stun Threshold
  • Venom Draught of the Veil: Grants 30% increased Elemental Ailment Threshold
  • Venom Draught of Clarity: Grants 25% increased Mana Regeneration Rate

Which Venom Draught you choose depends on how you’re building your character. If you’re playing a Mana-intensive build, then the Draught of Clarity will be the best fit. Alternatively, if you don’t use Mana as much, the Draught of the Veil is a good choice, making it harder for you to be inflicted with ailments that are prevalent throughout the game.

You won’t be able to undo this choice, so choose wisely!
