Heretic Prophet’s Mysterious QR Code Is Stumping Community

Summary

  • A hidden QR code in the Intergalactic game trailer has sparked community speculation with the numbers 66260600410.
  • The community theories include linking the numbers to the game’s release date or Planck’s constant.
  • The QR code may be an Easter egg for physics enthusiasts, adding to the hype surrounding the game’s reveal.

Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet was one of The Game Awards’ biggest, most surprising reveals. The latest game from Naughty Dog sees the company step away from the more grounded The Last of Us and Uncharted series for the first time since 2007, launching a brand-new space-based IP.

Naughty Dog heard everyone’s complaints about The Last of Us getting so many re-releases.

The five-minute trailer is packed to the rafters with Easter eggs, including hints about the cast, a possible 2027 launch date, and a sword that has audio wavelengths, but one small QR code has the community stumped.

Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet’s Mysterious QR Code

Initially shared by an Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet fan account on Twitter, a hidden QR code in the game’s reveal trailer has community theories running wild.

Seen in the top corner of a newspaper at 1:26, this tiny QR code reportedly reveals a string of numbers— most commonly 66260600410, but also allegedly 66260700410. These 11 numbers have already started to vibrate through the community, sparking speculation as to what they could mean.

One theory suggests that the first four numbers serve to sneakily reveal the game’s release date as June 6, 2026. It’s a clever thought, but it doesn’t explain the other seven numbers behind it in the sequence. It also directly contradicts the previous clues that suggest the game may be released in 2027.

Another fan mapped out the coordinates on the Earth’s map, landing in a spot in the Norwegian Sea, somewhere between Norway and Iceland. While interesting, no further links between this location and the game have been made.

Arguably, the most plausible suggestion is that the string of numbers relates to Planck’s constant, a theory from within quantum mechanics that has the value 6.626070. It’s a physical constant that goes way over my head, but one I’m reliably informed by social media is related to space. If this theory is correct, it’s suggested the QR code could just be a small Easter egg for the physics nerds out there.

Whatever the outcome, it’s another part of the trailer that has served to build hype, and we’ll update you should any more solid theories come to light.
