Choose the right gadget

At the start of the game, you’ll need to pick a gadget. The Recon Grenade Kit is great for beginners since it reveals enemy positions which gives your team valuable information. You can also use gadgets like frag grenades (good for clearing enemies), proximity mines (great for traps) and bubble shields (block bullets for a short time). However, mini-impulse grenades are a good option if you prefer moving fast.

Objective and Combat

The main goal for attackers is to plant the Rift Point device at either the A or B site. So your objective is to clear the area with grenades or scanners and finally plant the device. After planting, defend it to stop the defenders from defusing it. Planting the device gives you credits which helps you buy better gear next round. As a defending player, your job is to stop the attackers from planting or defusing the device. Timing is everything and running down the clock gives you the win.

Combat Tips

First of all, keep in mind that hooting while moving is inaccurate—just like the battle royale mode—so stand still or crouch for better precision. Learn to control the spray patterns of your guns which typically involves pulling down and slightly left when shooting in bursts. Try to aim down sights (ADS) during long-range battles and try hip firing in close combats.

Best Weapons

The Striker AR is great for most situations, while the Nemesis AR does more damage but has a slower rate of fire. If you prefer close combat, the Hammer Pump Shotgun is a budget-friendly option that can one-shot enemies with headshots. The Reaper Sniper is expensive but it deals massive damage from a distance. SMGs are less effective overall but good for mid-range fights.

Best Strategy

Good strategy is just as important as good aim. Flanking (attacking from unexpected angles) is a great way to surprise your enemies. Use different paths or high ground to get the upper hand. Mantling lets you climb to higher places for better views or surprise attacks. Use your gadgets wisely too—smoke grenades block enemy sight and recon grenades help you find hidden enemies.

However, we didn’t see much excitement around the new Fortnite Ballistic update or the OG season, like we did before. Does that mean Fortnite is losing its popularity?
