Elden Ring Nightreign Trailer Could Be Showing Off A Playable Character
Elden Ring Nightreign is set to deviate from the FromSoftware Soulsborne formula in a variety of ways. There’s no sprawling mainline story, there’s a Fortnite-style storm circle that closes as the game progresses, and there is no traditional character customization or build selection. Instead, players will choose from one of eight pre-built archetypes as they begin their treacherous three-day runs.
Early previews of the game revealed four of the eight classes players could select. There was the all-rounder Wylder class, the tanky Guardian, the glass-cannon Duchess, and the magic-wielding Recluse. That left four classes unaccounted for.
Now, the Elden Ring subreddit believes it has figured out one of the remaining four, with one of the Nightreign trailer’s more mysterious characters a real possibility.
At around 2:30 into the trailer, a creature with what looks like a ram’s skull and giant eyes can be seen levitating in an area glowing with faith magic. Initially, it was thought that this creature could be one of the game’s new bosses. However, a theory by BrightPercentage8444 suggests that, actually, it’s not a boss but one of Nightreign’s playable characters.
Currently, there has been a lack of Faith-using healer-type characters revealed for the game, with this little critter potentially fitting the bill. Given that it’s a similar size to many of the other humanoid characters seen in the game, this doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
With Elden Ring Nightreign set to release within the next 12 months, we won’t have too long to wait to find out. But you can bet your last dollar that this won’t be the last theory to come out about the game before then.
