  • Players praised the Guardian Po costume’s creative use of shaders and noted the Doki Doki Destiny Titan Helm’s unexpected versatility.

The legendary martial artist Po has joined the ranks of the Guardians in Destiny 2 thanks to a clever player’s Kung Fu Panda-themed Titan costume. The new Destiny 2 custom outfit takes full advantage of a recent addition to the game’s cosmetic repertoire, one that has enabled a good number of animal-themed costumes in recent weeks.

One of the most interesting new additions to the vast and growing array of cosmetic armor options in the game is the now-famous Doki Doki Destiny 2 cosmetic set. Despite being based on the distinctive aesthetic of magical girl anime and the Japanese “Doki Doki” visual style, many players have taken parts from the ornament set to make them into highly evocative customized armor ensembles.

Destiny 2’s Dawning 2024 Controversy Explained

Destiny 2 is facing yet another controversy before the end of the year, this time caused by the Dawning event and its implementation.

One particular standout piece is the fox-themed Doki Doki Destiny Titan Helm, which was cleverly used by player iixVanquishxX to construct a costume based on the Kung Fu Panda movie series. Using Destiny 2 Titan armor pieces in conjunction with the Doki Doki Destiny Titan Helm, they created a spot-on costume evoking the appearance of Po, a portly panda bear martial artist and Kung Fu Panda’s protagonist.

Kung Fu Panda Destiny 2 Costume Perfectly Captures Po

Destiny 2 Kung Fu Panda Costume Parts (Titan)

  • Head – Doki Doki Destiny Titan Helm (Monochromatic Shader)
  • Arms – Synthoceps Exotic Titan Arms (Augmented Auspice Ornament, Superblack Shader)
  • Chest – Kerak Type 2 (Pole Position Shader)
  • Legs – Valkyrian Greaves (Iron Oxide Shader)
  • Class Item – Terra Concord Mark (Iron Oxide Shader)

Though technically shaped like the face of a mystical anime fox, the Doki Doki Destiny Titan Helm is repurposed into Po’s black-and-white face, thanks to the use of the Monochromatic color Shader to replicate the panda’s natural black eye spots. Po’s rotund silhouette is captured by the rounded shape of the Destiny 2 launch-era Kerak Type 2 chest armor. The low-profile Augmented Auspice Exotic Titan armor ornament for the Synthoceps armor gives the appearance of unarmored arms covered by nothing but panda fur. Lastly, the Valkyrian Greaves and rope-like Terra Concord Mark class item look like Po’s martial arts pants.

Fellow Destiny 2 players praised iixVanquishxX’s work, particularly noting the clever use of shaders to replicate the panda’s signature black-and-white markings. A few noted that this “Guardian Po” is noticeably more muscular-looking compared to his canonical appearance in the films. This is thanks to the buff default physique of player-created Guardians, but some commenters joked that Po might be sucking in his gut to try to impress the Vanguard, or perhaps to fit into the armor. Others voiced their appreciation for the unexpected versatility of the Doki Doki Destiny Titan helm, which has been used in several costumes to turn players into all manner of animals and other mascot-like characters. Earlier in December, one player turned their Destiny 2 Titan into a copy of Winnie the Pooh.
