Dolls with dead eyes and perfect hair and clothing are a dime a dozen in the horror genre. But Blumhouse’s killer doll M3GAN is special, and now Entertainment Weekly has shared a new image of this popular character.

In the photo, the M3GAN doll is wearing a blue coat and has perfectly styled hair, which is her usual look. Her blue eyes look even bigger than usual, and she appears to be plotting something evil.

I Think Christopher Landon’s Next Movie Could Be His Best One Yet

Christopher Landon has written and directed some of the funniest and most compelling horror movies in recent years, and I can’t wait for his new one.

Jenna Davis is voicing M3GAN once again, and the sequel, which was announced in 2023, also features Allison Williams as Gemma and Violet McGraw as Cady. The other cast members include Jen Van Epps, Jemaine Clement, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Timm Sharp, and Aristotle Athari. As is often the case with a horror movie cast, these actors will likely be victims, although they will no doubt battle M3GAN and try their best to survive.

The M3GAN doll kills a few people in the first movie, and since she’s so sneaky, there’s no doubt that the sequel will deliver all the surprises audiences are hoping for. After the ending of the original and the overwhelmingly positive reaction, it was clear that Blumhouse would continue the franchise. The production company is known for releasing a lot of original horror movies each year, and they have quite a few sequels being developed. Another popular one is The Black Phone 2, which has cast new actors recently.

From Johnstone’s interview with Entertainment Weekly, it sounds like fans can look forward to seeing the evil doll in a few different outfits, which will be fun. This would make M3GAN feel even more real than she already does, which is a terrifying thought. The director said:

“She’s a living doll, and part of the fun of having a doll is being able to play dress-up. We had a couple of looks in the first film, but I wanted 10 different looks for M3GAN. For the sequel, I felt like here’s a chance to do that.”

There’s always a fine line between giving fans what they want in a horror sequel and making sure that it feels distinct. As Williams told Entertainment Weekly, “the fan service thing is so tempting.” Sometimes a horror sequel has a lot to answer for, like the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel. In the case of this killer doll, M3GAN told a satisfying story about an innocent doll ruining the lives of everyone around them, and fans can’t wait to see what she does next. The sky could be the limit with this story. Why not make a M3GAN 3.0 or even a M3GAN 4.0?
