Not everything from the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga made it into the anime. Here are some moments that were censored.
Stands are one of the most important elements of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure that helps its fights feel more unique than ever before. These powerful projections were introduced in Stardust Crusaders, which is filled to the brim with iconic Stands that fans still remember to this day.
1 Hermit Purple
A Weak Yet Iconic Stand Used To Track Targets
- Debut: “A Man Possessed by an Evil Spirit” (Episode 1 of Stardust Crusaders)
It’s understandable why Joseph Joestar received the worst Stand in the main group. Given how he played a major role as the protagonist of Battle Tendency, it was only fair that his grandson and the other Stand Users enjoyed more screen time instead.
However, Hermit Purple is still a decent stand that lets its users track certain people. His Stand was crucial to tracking Dio down, and it helps that Hermit Purple’s tendrils can be also used to get out of a tough spot if required. However, its applications in combat are fairly limited.
2 The Fool
Iggy’s Stand Is Simple Yet Effective
- Debut: “The Fool” Iggy and “Geb” N’Doul, Part 1 (Episode 25 of Stardust Crusaders)
Iggy can be an irritating character at times, but eventually redeems himself by the end of Stardust Crusaders. This moody dog reveals a powerful Stand that manipulates sand to assume a form that can attack enemies.
Iggy’s Stand may seem simple but has its uses, such as when he defeats another animal Stand user and aids both Polnareff and Avdol during their fight against Cream. It’s quite powerful, but one can argue that the full extent of this Stand isn’t seen since Iggy prefers to hang back instead of aiding the group in their fight.
3 Magician’s Red
A Fiery Stand That Is Used To Incinerate Opponents
- Debut: “A Man Possessed by an Evil Spirit” (Episode 1 of Stardust Crusaders)
Since Stardust Crusaders was the story arc where Stands made a debut, it’s easy to see why these projections may seem rather basic. Magician’s Red is a great example of the same, with this Stand’s power of manipulating flames seeming rather basic given how imaginative other Stands in JoJo are.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has some incredible ending songs, but not all of them are equally amazing.
However, Magician’s Red is a Stand that benefits from having an interesting user who can make the most of this basic yet explosive power. There’s a reason why fans cheered after this Stand User came back from the dead and used his Magician’s Red to take out Judgement and its user.
4 Cream
A Deadly Stand That Killed Multiple Heroes
- Debut: “The Miasma of the Void, Vanilla Ice, Part 1” (Episode 42 of Stardust Crusaders)
One of the scariest Stands in the series, Vanilla Ice is one of Dio’s lackeys who was deemed powerful enough to receive the power of vampirism. Along with this, the villain used the power of his Stand, Cream, to create a void that eliminates anything caught in its range.
This Stand was so powerful that it killed both Avdol and Iggy. The nature of their death is brutal, but it motivates Polnareff to rise against the odds and use Vanilla Ice’s vampiric powers against him, tricking him into being burned alive by the sun.
5 Hierophant Green
Kakyoin Made The Most Of A Stand With Effective Ranged Attacks
- Debut: “Who Will Be the Judge?!” (Episode 2 of Stardust Crusaders)
Kakyoin is one of the best characters in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, making the most of Hierophant Green’s simple powers to become one of the show’s most captivating fighters. Witnessing his Emerald Splash land flush on enemies time and time again never ceases to be entertaining.
Throughout the series, he uses his wits to bring enemies into his range before using Emerald Splash to come out victorious time and time again. Stardust Crusaders‘ strong writing ensures that even the most basic powers feel impressive in the grand scheme of things.
6 Silver Chariot
A Special Fencing Stand That Made A Surprise Appearance In Golden Wind
- Debut: “Tower of Gray” (Episode 4 of Stardust Crusaders)
Silver Chariot is a unique-looking stand that appears to be clad in armor. It wields a fencing sword in battle that can be used to stab enemies and leave them severely injured.

Colony Stands in Jojo’s Bixarre Adventure are made up of many moving parts, and while they aren’t always used for combat, they’re very effective.
Along with this Silver Chariot can also shed its armor to sacrifice its absolute defense for greater speed. It’s a Stand that is way more tactical than most people would assume, and fans were glad to see this iconic Stand make an appearance in Golden Wind too.
7 The World
Dio’s Ultra-Powerful Stand That Can Stop Time
- Debut: “DIO’s World, Part 1” (Episode 45 of Stardust Crusaders)
Dio’s Stand is a source of great mystery for the heroes, who try and figure out the secret behind its power as they make their way to his hideout in Egypt. Once viewers see The World in all its splendor, it’s easy to see why this Stand’s power to stop time is fearsome in every way.
These unique time-stopping powers are a huge part of what makes Dio the toughest fight in Stardust Crusaders by a country mile. To make things worse, the power of this Stand is also brutal enough to make close combat encounters quite risky.
8 Star Platinum
Jotaro’s Iconic Stand That Can Pummel Enemies To Oblivion
- Debut: “A Man Possessed by an Evil Spirit” (Episode 1 of Stardust Crusaders)
Star Platinum is the Stand wielded by Jotaro Kujo, a no-nonsense protagonist who embodied the archetype of the shonen heroes popular around that time who could decimate anything standing in their way. Much like Kenshiro, Jotaro kept a cool head at all times and was more than up to the task when a pesky enemy tried to stop him.
His Stand was powerful enough to defeat anyone with an iconic punch rush, but the true extent of Star Platinum’s powers was revealed when he fought Dio. While he struggled against this foe early on, it was made abundantly clear that both The World and Star Platinum were the same type of Stand, allowing Jotaro to manipulate time and catch Dio by surprise before obliterating this foe in style.
