Dragon Quest 11 S adds a whole new act filled with content. Here are 10 things to do after completing Square Enix’s JRPG on the Nintendo Switch.
Best Weapon For Erik In Dragon Quest 11
While it may not seem like much at first, the best weapon to use on Erik is a Knife. Fairly quickly into the Knife Skill tree, you can get the Dual-Wielding skill to equip two knives, along with a skill later in the game that negates the lesser damage from your second knife. The negation to damage with the off-weapon makes him a better damage dealer than the protagonist. A lot of Knife skills focus on dealing status ailments on enemies, which can help give you the edge in battle.
- Assassin’s Stab – Sometimes kills an enemy instantly.
- Cobra Strike – Sometimes poisons an enemy.
- Sleeper Hit – Sometimes puts an enemy to sleep.
- Victimiser – Deals six times the usual damage to enemies that are poisoned or paralyzed.
To also make him your best damage dealer, focus purely on gear that increases his attack. Even going full glass canon is worthwhile as it’ll be possible to beat the secret final boss of the game in only two turns with Erik, so survivability won’t usually be an issue if you win fast enough.

Best Skill Trees To Focus On For Erik In Dragon Quest 11
Early into the game, your focus should be on any new Knife skills to give him more options in combat. After getting Dual-Wielding, you should start investing more in Guile. While Deftness may not be a direct damage-dealing stat, get a few Deftness upgrades to increase his odds of landing a critical hit. You’ll also want to unlock the first secret skill, which is Divide.
Divide will only apply the turn after it is used, but it will triple the damage Erik does that next turn. If Erik is dual-wielding with two weapons that deal full damage, Divide will lead to six full-damage attacks hitting at once. Have another party member poison or paralyze an enemy, then have Erik use Divide; on his next turn, use Victimiser to land six attacks at six times the usual damage. Add a damage buffing spell and debuff the enemy’s defense with your other party members for the single highest amount of damage you can possibly do. Even without VIctimiser, landing an attack with Divide will deal incredible amounts of damage, and should be the foundation of Erik’s combos once it is learned.
