Best Weapon For Erik In Dragon Quest 11

While it may not seem like much at first, the best weapon to use on Erik is a Knife. Fairly quickly into the Knife Skill tree, you can get the Dual-Wielding skill to equip two knives, along with a skill later in the game that negates the lesser damage from your second knife. The negation to damage with the off-weapon makes him a better damage dealer than the protagonist. A lot of Knife skills focus on dealing status ailments on enemies, which can help give you the edge in battle.

Early into the game, your focus should be on any new Knife skills to give him more options in combat. After getting Dual-Wielding, you should start investing more in Guile. While Deftness may not be a direct damage-dealing stat, get a few Deftness upgrades to increase his odds of landing a critical hit.
