Best Flair To Choose In Pokemon TCG Pocket

Best Flair To Choose In Pokemon TCG Pocket

Just like with all card games, virtual or not, when you’re opening card packs, you’ll probably end up getting quite a few duplicates over time. The same is true for Pokemon Pocket where players are haunted by getting 11 Haunters from their promo packs. No one’s salty at all.

Pokemon Pocket: How To Play On PC

If you’re tired of playing on a small screen and prefer your monitor, check out this guide and learn how to play Pokemon Pocket TCG on PC.

In Pokemon Pocket, you can discard those duplicates to get cool flair effects that you can use on your cards. These effects either play as you set a card on the field or remain active while the card is in play. But which ones are worth the sacrifice of your duplicates?

Because you have to sacrifice your duplicates to obtain Flair options, if you have any cards you want multiple copies of or don’t want to lose, then you shouldn’t obtain Flair for them.

All cards have the same first Flair option, with sparkles that appear on your card. Before you get to the more individualistic options, you have to unlock that first Flair choice.

10

Darkness Energy Flair (Cosmetic)

Pokemon Pocket Arbok card with Darkness Energy Flair (Cosmetic) effect.

Want to show your love for your favorite Darkness Pokemon? This is one way to do it. Thanks to its cosmetic nature, Darkness symbols will continue to populate and burst across your card while it remains on the field, even if it’s not on your Active mon.

If Darkness isn’t your favorite energy or Pokemon to use, that’s okay. Other Pokemon with different typings have access to this Flair. The only difference is that it reflects the card’s energy type. The Fire one is, well, pretty fire.

There are two types of Flair: Cosmetic and Battle. This will tell you if the effect remains on the card while it’s in play or if it only activates when you use it in battle.

Tiny Twinkles Flair: Purple (Battle)

Pokemon Pocket Arbok card with Tiny Twinkles Flair- Purple (Battle) effect.

Tiny Twinkles are just that, these pretty little specks of light and stars. It’s truly one of the most beautiful Flair options. The unfortunate thing is that they are very hard to see depending on the background the card is placed on.

While this option may deserve more love, if you can’t see it, it can make it hard to appreciate. When you are on the My Cards menu in Pokemon Pocket, you can’t see all the details. But bring it into battle with a darker backdrop, and it’s certain it will give your card a magical feeling.

8

Small Hearts Flair: Pink (Battle)

Pokemon Pocket Woobat card with the Small Hearts Flair- Pink (Battle).

Want to show everyone how much you love a Pokemon? Then, the Small Hearts Flair is a wonderful option. This battle theme has it so that when you place a card on the field, it is surrounded by a swarm of hearts that spawn and then fade quickly.

Unfortunately, you can’t have this heart effect on any Pokemon. This means your favorite Pokemon, or the one you currently love using the most, just might not have access to this option. But when it does match up, buy, buy, buy! Or don’t. It’s up to you.

7

Flames Flair: Orange (Battle)

Pokemon Pocket Sizzlipede card with Flames Flair- Orange (Battle) effect.

Another battle effect that is there and gone in a flash is the Flames Flair option. This causes a storm of fire to wrap around your card before snuffing itself out when it’s time for you to continue your turn.

Not sure if the Charizard booster packs are right for you? This guide lists every card you can hope to get from the Genetic Apex Charizard collection.

While the fire looks very realistic, and having it burn around certain cards looks pretty awesome, it’s gone quickly and doesn’t continue to show its flame after the card has been set in its current space. If you prefer to have your field less busy and with less distraction, then it could be an excellent option for you.

6

Star Outlines Flair: Purple (Cosmetic)

Pokemon Pocket Slowpoke card with Star Outlines Flair- Purple (Cosmetic) effect.

A great way to honor an ace in your deck or a Pokemon you just really like is to give them the Star Outlines Flair option. This shows hollow stars that appear on the card for a while, floating upward before popping and disappearing.

Thank Arceus it’s not like an actual star collapsing. What’s nice about the Star Outlines is that they are made to glow like neon, a bright white center with the color around the outsides of the outline. Say that five times fast. It makes it easy to see, regardless of the card.

5

Petals Flair: Red (Cosmetic)

Pokemon Pocket Petilil card with the Petals Flair- Red (Cosmetic) effect.

Do you know what makes your Grass energy cards come to life? Petals floating gently across them, giving the card a constant motion that is both elegant and calm. It’s not as aggressive or leaves as strong an impression as your card being wrapped with flames. And not all Pokemon need that show of force.

It’s very reminiscent of how the cherry blossom petals in Animal Crossing just chill in the air, adding a sweet detail to the background of the game. Well, these petals achieve the same effect, making things feel tranquil in the middle of battle. Too bad it doesn’t work as a deterrent to keep people from attacking your pretty Pokemon.

4

Bubbles Flair: Light Blue (Battle)

Pokemon Pocket Golduck card with the Bubbles Flair Light Blue (Battle) effect.

This is the opposite of Flames Flair. Instead of being surrounded by fire, the card you get this Flair option on is instead engulfed with cute, fun bubbles that pop after appearing. Naturally, you’ll find this on Water Energy Pokemon.

Depending on what you like in a Flair option, you might like this one better than the firey options or the leaves of Grass Energy Pokemon. Naturally, if you are a Water Pokemon user, then you’ll probably like this option on your mons and have plenty of opportunities to unlock it.

3

Ripples Flair: Purple (Cosmetic)

Pokemon Pocket Haunter Promo card with the Ripples Flair- Purple (Cosmetic).

For most Flair options, they come in different colors. For instance, you can get the Ripples Flair: Light Blue on Golduck, which makes it look like raindrops hitting the card. But the purple option on a Psychic card like Haunter gives it this cool, creepy vibe.

Wondering what booster pack you should focus on? Here are all the cards you can get with the Genetic Apex Mewtwo Pack.

Just like the Golduck example, having the purple ripples drift across the card while the match is ongoing can be kind of mesmerizing. It’s a fun option to consider when you have enough duplicates to spare. Especially in a funky color.

2

Flowers Flair: Orange (Battle)

Pokemon Pocket Whimsicott card with the Flowers Flair- Orange (Battle) effect.

This Flair option screams 1960s and 70s flower power! It’s the design of these big, circular flowers with a mix of orange and yellow that achieves this effect. Not to mention, it pairs perfectly with Grass Energy Pokemon, like Whimsicott.

This is a great option if you like the battle Flair over the cosmetic ones, like Petals Flair, which stays active on your card the entire time it’s on the field. It makes it a little less busy but still draws attention to itself when the card is first played.

1

Puffs Flair: White (Battle)

Pokemon Pocket Slowpoke card with Puffs Flair- White (Battle) effect.

This option is just funny. It’s similar to the effect that plays over the head of Pokemon using Amnesia in mainline games like Scarlet and Violet. It doesn’t stay for long, but it surrounds the card with these fluffy puffs that look like clouds or thought bubbles.

It can also make your card look like it has some heft to it; for example, when you set it on the field, dust kicks up from being displaced. Of course, how you picture it could be completely different, but it certainly makes it very impactful when in play.
