Each December, the bleak depths of the Fog get a little more festive. Snow falls, lights are hung, and grisly ornaments decorate the Trial Grounds. That can mean only one thing: the Bone Chill event has returned to Dead By Daylight, bringing with it a bevy of seasonal items, challenges, and rewards.

How To Get Frosty Trinkets
In order to unlock all of the limited-time goodies from this year’s event (which runs from December 12 to January 7), you’ll need to accumulate some Frosty Trinkets – the Bone Chill Event Currency. You’ll get 100 Frosty Trinkets from logging on at any time during the event, 50 Trinkets per Bone Chill Challenge completed, and 250 Trinkets per completed level of the Bone Chill Event Tome.
All told, there are 2950 Frost Tokens up for grabs, and you’ll only need 2400 to collect everything, leaving you with 550 to spare.
Any unspent Frosty Trinkets left over after Bone Chill goes away will be turned into Bloodpoints – 125 per Frosty Trinket, to be exact.

How To Use Snowmen
The most notable features of the Bone Chill Event Mode are the Snowmen and piles of Snow Skulls you can find scattered across the map. The Snowmen are mostly harmless – they may move around occasionally, but they won’t hurt you. In fact, Snowmen can be highly useful.
Both Killers and Survivors can jump inside Snowmen, giving Killers the Undetectable status effect and giving Survivors a way to hide under the Killer’s nose. Keep in mind that Killers can use their Basic Attack to destroy Snowmen, potentially damaging any Survivor hiding within.
That is all assuming that you aren’t dealing with a Snowman Decoy: these malicious creatures look just like regular Snowmen and will try to scare you by screaming and exploding whenever a Survivor or Killer gets close to them. This sends a notification to all players across the map, so be careful approaching a Snowman you haven’t seen before. If you keep an eye on them, Snowman Decoys will sometimes twitch and reveal their mouths while standing still, allowing you to play around them.
Snow Skulls
But if you see a suspicious Snowman, how do you deal with it without giving away your position? That’s where Snow Skulls come in – interacting with a Snow Skull Pile will give you seven Snow Skulls that you can throw at your opponents, your teammates, and any Snowmen that you see.
Snowmen that are hit by a Snow Skull will be destroyed, though both regular Snowmen and Snowman Decoys will respawn over time.
If you feel like playing some tricks yourself, you can interact with a Snow Skull Pile while you have all seven Snow Skulls to trade them for an Instant Snowman. You can put on or take off the Instant Snowman at the push of a button, allowing you to play mind games with your opponent, and you can choose to leave the Snowman behind, intentionally creating a Snowman Decoy.
As a bonus, if you create a Snowman Decoy as a Survivor, your teammates can see its aura.
Unique Bloodweb Items
The Entity has decided to give everyone in the Fog some holiday gifts, showing that even multi-dimensional horrors can feel the holiday spirit. Both Survivors and Killers can find a new Offering, Mistle Toes, which will give you extra Bloodpoints for Bone Chill Event actions. But that’s not all: you’ll start the Trial with six Snow Skulls, and an extra Chest will spawn somewhere on the map.
Speaking of Chests, some Chests in all Trials during Bone Chill will become Winter Chests. Winter Chests will give rarer Items than usual, with a chance to contain a Winter Party Starter – a Survivor-exclusive Item that functions identically to the Survivor Perk Flashbang. If you can’t find any Winter Chests to pillage, don’t worry – while Bone Chill lasts, you can also find Winter Party Starters in the Bloodweb for all Survivors.
