Zenless Zone Zero leaks are hinting at a major change to how the game grants additional Decibels for the ultimate system, changing the rewards for applying Attribute Anomalies. The combat for the urban action RPG from HoYoverse tasks players with managing a wide variety of different status effects in battle, challenging players to properly optimize their attacks. Zenless Zone Zero‘s Attribute Anomaly system rewards players for repeatedly applying the same Attribute, granting bonus damage and DoT effects. Now, another change is on the way for the game’s Ultimate system.
The Ultimate system has been one of the biggest teased changes coming to Zenless Zone Zero with the game’s upcoming Version 1.4. The next update will radically change how players gain and use their characters’ Ultimates, with decibels now generated separately for each character instead of as a combined stat. The change could potentially allow players to stack up multiple Ultimates with different characters to unload with a heavy burst of damage, swinging the tide of a battle. However, the Ultimate system is now rumored to be seeing even more changes.

Zenless Zone Zero Making More Changes to Ultimates
A new leak shared by prominent Zenless Zone Zero leaker Leifa is hinting at more changes to Decibel generation in Zenless Zone Zero. According to the post, the change will see different types of enemies rewarding different Decibel counts for triggering Attribute Anomalies and Disorders following the Version 1.4 update. Normal Enemies will reward just 35 and 15 decibels for triggering Anomalies and Disorders, respectively, while Bosses will give out 170 for Anomalies and 85 for Disorders. The change will see lower-tier enemies giving out significantly less Decibels than before, with all enemies previously sharing the Boss counts.
New Attribute Anomaly/Disorder Counts
- Normal Enemies: 35 Decibels/15 Decibels
- Elite Enemies: 125 Decibels/65 Decibels
- Boss Enemies: 170 Decibels/85 Decibels
The change to Zenless Zone Zero‘s Decibels is set to majorly impact some of the game’s strongest Anomaly characters. Popular Anomaly DPS characters like Yanagi could easily abuse the high Decibel counts for normal enemies, allowing her to quickly turn on her Ultimate multiple times in a battle. The change will also affect Zenless Zone Zero‘s next set of characters as well, with Version 1.4’s Miyabi expected to be a popular Anomaly DPS choice following her release. The Decibel changes are expected to arrive with Version 1.4, scheduled to release later this week on December 18.
Beyond the Ultimate system, Zenless Zone Zero fans look to have plenty of quality-of-life upgrades coming to the game with the Version 1.4 update. The patch will add a new feature to the game’s “TV Mode” exploration missions, now allowing players to control Eous in a more action-oriented sequence instead of the TV mazes. Zenless Zone Zero players on PS5 are also set to benefit from multiple graphical enhancements, including ray tracing and HDR and VRR support. Zenless Zone Zero‘s Version 1.4 is set to be a massive update for the already beloved game.
