In the days leading up to the Siren Isle content update, World of Warcraft players took to social media to discuss one part of a new survey that was sent out. On the r/wow subreddit, a Reddit user named SpunkMcKullins posted a screenshot of an email survey that was sent out to some World of Warcraft players and noted two Mythic+ questions in the survey. The first question asked how interested World of Warcraft players would be in adding a death counter over a timer to Mythic+ Dungeon keys, similar to how Delves in The War Within are handled. Currently, timers in Mythic+ Dungeons are a way to incentivize players to play fast and smartly and will penalize players who take too long or die too much by significantly reducing the rewards received at the end of a dungeon.
World of Warcraft Considering Adding a Death Counter to Mythic+ Dungeons
- A World of Warcraft survey is gauging player interest in adding a death counter for Mythic+ Dungeon runs over a timer.
- The proposed death counter for Mythic+ Dungeons would be similar to one already used in Delves.
- World of Warcraft also asked players if they would use tags when looking for groups.
- Response to the World of Warcraft survey has been mixed.
Another question asked players about adding tags to the Looking for Group page, with some examples being that a group is either learning Mythic+ Dungeons or seeking specific classes. Initial responses to the survey on the r/wow subreddit were mixed. While some World of Warcraft players were fine with having no timer to worry about, others expressed concerns that runs would take much longer to complete and stated that cooldowns like the Shaman’s Bloodlust or Heroism would be mandatory for each pull.
Blizzard recently stated that World of Warcraft‘s 11.0.7 update would make higher Mythic+ Dungeon keys offer more Harbinger Crests and other rewards. Though any major changes to Mythic+ Dungeons will not happen until Season 2 arrives shortly after World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, only time will tell what Blizzard has in store.
