More on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure

Jojo is a long-lasting franchise, serialized since 1987. The story started in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump magazine, but was later moved to Ultra Jump, in 2011. Despite a dedicated magazine to the franchise, the current arc, The JoJoLands, is still published in Ultra Jump, and not in the JOJO Magazine.

Different arcs generally focus on different main characters, although characters from older arcs might make appearances in the latest stories. So far, the series is divided into nine parts: Phantom Blood (1987, 5 volumes), Battle Tendency (1987-1989, 7 volumes), Stardust Crusaders (1989-1992, 16 volumes), Diamond is Unbreakable (1992-1995, 12 volumes), Golden Wind (1995-1999, 17 volumes), Stone Ocean (1999-2003, 17 volumes), Steel Ball Run (2004-2011, 24 volumes), JoJolion (2011-2021, 27 volumes), The JoJoLands (since 2023, 4 volumes so far).
