The Forza Horizon 4 delisting is just hours away, so act fast if you want it

If you’ve been meaning to pick it up ahead of the imminent Forza Horizon 4 delisting, I hope this reaches you in time. Xbox and Playground Games are about to remove it from digital storefronts forever, meaning you’ll have to buy secondhand physical copies if you suddenly decide you want to try it out down the line. If you want to take it for a drive, then, you can at least pick up multiple editions of the game at 80% off right now. I wouldn’t wait around, though.

As announced earlier this year, Forza Horizon 4 is about to be delisted from digital storefronts like Steam and the Xbox marketplace. Developer Playground Games said at the time that the racing game’s disappearance came down to “licensing and agreements with our partners,” and that you’d only be able to purchase bundled editions of the game going forward.

“Due to licensing and agreements with our partners, Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from digital platforms (Microsoft Store and Steam) on December 15, 2024. This means the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase through online stores,” Playground Games wrote in a blog post earlier this year.

“Players who already own the game and its content will be able to download and play it as normal, including its offline, online, and multiplayer features; physical copies of the game purchased after this date will also work and will be able to use online features.”

News of the delisting struck a chord with players when it was announced, though. Forza Horizon 4’s playercount on Steam skyrocketed to a staggering 75,000 concurrents, and in the last 24 hours, it’s even hit around 45,000 as well. So if you fancy diving into the game’s online modes, now’s the perfect time.

Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games are delisting Forza Horizon 4 on all digital storefronts after Sunday December 15. You can buy multiple versions for 80% off until then, so expect to pay $19.99 / £16.99 for the Ultimate Edition. The sale ends on Monday December 16 at 1am PT / 4am ET / 9am GMT / 8pm Australia time. You can find Forza Horizon 4 on Steam here.
