A talented Pokemon fan online has created an epic crochet of the popular Generation 9 Legendary Pokemon, Miraidon. This unique Pokemon is especially impressive, considering the complexity of Miraidon’s design.

After nearly three decades, Pokemon remains arguably as popular as ever. The long-running franchise has captured the hearts of multiple generations of players through video games, the anime, and the trading card game. In the long run, this has resulted in a massive fan base online, and as a result, tons of fan creations based on the adorable pocket monsters. This is a double-edged sword, though – while there are plenty of fan creations, it now takes something special to really stand out from the crowd. Just recently, one Pokemon fan designed clever wedding invitations based on the games, showing how the franchise can even bleed into fans’ real lives, too.

December 17 is Going to Be a Big Day for Pokemon TCG Pocket Fans

Thanks to a couple of different happenings, Tuesday, December 17 is set to be an exciting day for Pokemon TCG Pocket players.

The aptly-named Redditor pokemoncrochet shared their creative Pokemon crochet, which is an adorable version of the Generation 9 Legendary, Miraidon. What is perhaps most impressive about this is the complex shape and multiple colors found throughout Miraidon, and pokemoncrochet has managed to capture them all perfectly. When asked about the difficulty of completing this crochet piece, they described it as “definitely challenging.” When asked to do Miraidon’s counterpart Koraidon, pokemoncrochet confirmed they have already completed it, but it “looks really goofy.”

Although Miraidon is a newer addition to the franchise with Generation 9, it is still a Legendary Pokemon. These Legendaries are always very popular subjects when it comes to fan creations. They’re front and center on the cover art of each game and always have particularly epic designs. There was even a Pokemon fan who designed Poke Balls based on the Generation 3 Legendaries, showing how this status helps them stand the test of time. Hopefully, the Generation 9 Legendaries will be exactly the same, and remain popular with fans for years to come.

It’s going to be an exciting few years for Pokemon fans. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A coming in 2025, next year should be a hit. 2026 marks the franchise’s 30th anniversary, and current rumors suggest that could be when Generation 10 of the Pokemon games are set to arrive. It would be the perfect moment if it were to come to fruition. Beyond that, it was recently revealed that Aardman Studios is developing a Pokemon project for 2027. The Wallace and Gromit studio and Pokemon are a match made in heaven on paper, and should prove to be an exciting collaboration.
