The first Pokemon title only had four legendary Pokemon for players to catch. The remake of the 1996 RPG saw the number of legendary Pokemon increase to include the pocket monsters that were to be battled in the main franchise Pokemon games that were released in between its development.

While players in the USA were unable to officially enjoy Red and Green when they were first released due to them being exclusive to Japan, these players instead had Red and Blue. Alongside the already-seen Legendaries of Articuno, Zapdos, and Mewtwo, players were given seven more legendaries to catch which may have been seen in the likes of Gold and Silver or Ruby and Sapphire.

6 Diamond And Pearl

Total Legendaries To Catch: 14

After battling either Palkia or Dialga in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, players will be able to adventure past these two legendary Pokemon. The three other legendaries available to players will scatter themselves across the map of Sinnoh. Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit are three adorable little Psychic Pokemon that are actually Legendaries that are incredibly powerful, but that still means there are 9 other legendaries available to players.
