For the time being, the author has slowly been revealing interesting bits of information to the fans. While some are easily accessible and generally well-known, others are obscure pieces that are only now being unearthed by fans. These pieces of information hold quite a lot of value, as they give fans a better perspective on certain characters, understanding their strengths, their weaknesses, and at times, even their personal lives that never appeared in the story. It appears that Gege has revealed quite a bit of information about the strong characters in his world, and he went into great detail about who the physically strongest character in JJK is.
The Many Powerful Characters In JJK
- Jujutsu Kaisen Had No Shortage Of Powerful Characters
- Gojo And Sukuna Top The List
In the world of JJK, fans know there exist many powerful characters. Of course, when talking of the strongest, two characters come to mind and they’re known to be the mightiest of their respective times. Sukuna is a character that often pops into mind when speaking of the strongest, given that he is the King of Curses and the man labeled to be the strongest in history. Sukuna’s strength is impeccable, and fans saw him fight against some of the strongest characters in the entire series, both ancient and modern, and hold his own incredibly well. Sukuna’s performance in the Shinjuku showdown arc is a true testament to his strength, and is worthy of him claiming the title of the strongest in history. It is safe to say that fans were mesmerized by his performance.
Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one. – Gojo
Along with Sukuna, the other character who often pops up in the minds of the fans when it comes to the strongest in JJK is Gojo. Fans know Gojo to be incredibly powerful, and on the same level as Sukuna. These two characters were cut out of the same cloth, and just like Sukuna was called the strongest in history, Gojo is named the strongest in the modern era. These two characters fought an incredible battle in Shinjuku, and it was clear to see that they were equally matched for the vast majority of the battle.
While Gojo and sukuna are at the very top of the list when it comes to the strongest characters, there are some others as well, such as the likes of Toji and Maki, and of course, one absolutely cannot forget Kenjaku. These characters generally form the strongest, with the likes of Yuji and Yuta being thrown into the mix as well. But, different characters in JJK excel in different aspects of battle. For instance, some rely purely on their physical prowess, and others rely on their cursed techniques. When it comes to physical strength, the answer as to who the strongest is might actually go on to surprise the fans.
The Physically Strongest Character In JJK
Gojo Isn’t The Physically Strongest Character
Gege has previously been asked about who the strongest character in JJK is, physically speaking. The answer to this question isn’t straightforward. When talking of physical strength, one doesn’t include power such as cursed techniques, or even traits such as the Six Eyes. Physical strength simply means how strong one is in terms of their raw might, and the likes of Gojo and Sukuna certainly don’t take the crown here, much to the surprise of the fans. When Gege was asked about who the physically strongest character is, this is what he had to say.
Q: Among Gojo, Megumi, Maki, Mai, Naobito, Naoya, Toji, Noritoshi, Noritoshi (Kenjaku), and Geto (Kenjaku), who has the strongest physical grip?
A: If we exclude Toji and Maki, Kenjaku in Geto’s body.
As is clear from Gege’s answer, the physically strongest character in JJK isn’t Gojo or even Sukuna. The answer to
the question is Kenjaku in Geto’s body
. As fans know, Kenjaku is a mighty powerful individual. His strength is truly impeccable but, oftentimes, he can be underestimated because of characters such as Gojo and Sukuna existing. The fact that in terms of physical strength, he is even superior to Gojo Satoru is proof that he is a legendary fighter indeed.

JJK’s editor reveals some interesting information about who Gege resembles the most from JJK.
It must also be noted that the author specifically excludes characters such as Maki and Toji. This is simply down to the fact that they have Heavenly Restrictions that boost their physical attributes to a sky-high level. In fact, they can’t even be seen in combat and can do things such as walk in mid-air using their physical might alone. They are on an entirely different level of physical strength, which is why the author chose to exclude them as it wouldn’t be fair to the other sorcerers, who were handicapped in the situation.
Is Kenjaku Underrated?
Kenjaku Is One Of The Most Underrated Fighters
The question of whether Kenjaku is underrated or not is quite easy to answer. Kenjaku is undoubtedly one of the most underrated characters in JJK and this has largely got to do with how Gege has portrayed him throughout the years. At the very beginning, fans expected Kenjaku to be a major villain. However, due to how he was tackled in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, Kenjaku lost all the respect that he had from the fans. It is safe to say that the author messed up the ending of Kenjaku’s character, and that made him a somewhat forgettable character to the fans. Regardless, Kenjaku is underrated, no matter what fans think. He is certainly one of the five mightiest sorcerers seen in JJK, and his overly elaborate planning is what led to the vast majority of the plot points taking place in the series. If that wasn’t enough, then fans should also keep in mind that Kenjaku is a sorcerer who has, in the past, beaten characters such as Yuki. For him to beat Yuki just goes to show that he is truly on an entirely different plane when it comes to power.
Unfortunately, Kenjaku’s ending was ruined by the author and it left a sour taste in the mouths of the fans. Hopefully, fans will see the author give more context to his death or, at the very least, give fans a flashback surrounding the character of Kenjaku at some point later down the line, so they can understand him better, along with all the secrets he carries with him from the ancient era.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
