In this game, you can play with a variety of adorable Cookie characters and Pets, each with their unique style and abilities, all inspired by Indian sweets. In this CookieRun India Beginners Guide, I’ll share some useful tips and tricks to help you get started and improve your gameplay experience.
CookieRun India offers fast-paced action, vibrant graphics, daily rewards, and special events with exclusive prizes. Moreover, if you love challenges and competition, you can also compete against global players on the competitive leaderboard to become the top runner.
Gameplay Overview
Let’s begin with the gameplay overview of CookieRun India to provide you with a clear idea of how the game works, including its modes, abilities, and everything else in between. From the very beginning, the tutorial will draw your attention with charming characters, environment designs, visuals, and simple yet addictive gameplay.
The controls are easy to use, with only two buttons: Jump and Slide. You can jump over obstacles, slide beneath them, and even double jump to dodge larger obstacles or collect Jellies and Coins. As of now, there are two game modes available, Record Run and Coin Palace Rush, with Survival Run Squad coming in the future. By collecting the various jelly letters, you can enter Bonus Time, where you can collect more points and coins.
The game features a sweet cast of adorable cookie characters, especially two inspired by Indian sweets: Gulab Jamun Cookie and Kaju Katli Cookie. You start the adventure with GingerBrave Cookie, who has the Quite Brave ability and is accompanied by Choco Drop pet, whose ability can create Bear Jellies every 10 seconds. There are also two Pets with an Indian touch: Parrot Dada and Tiny Tabla.
Additionally, the Cookies and Pets also share Combi Bonuses. For instance, GingerBrave and Choco Drop’s Combi Bonus grants +30 Energy, while Zombie Cookie and Brain Gum‘s Combi Bonus grants +25 Energy after Zombie Cookie’s revival and so on. So you will have more advantage if you pair the Cookies and Pets sharing Combi Bonus.
CookieRun India Basics
Game Modes
As mentioned earlier, you can currently play in two modes, the Record Run and the Coin Palace Rush mode, which is available for 381 days. Another exciting mode called the Survival Run Squad is coming in the future, where you will most likely be able to team up with friends and play.
In Record Run, your objective is to run as much as you can, utilizing all the abilities and boosts to set a new high score. On the other hand, Coin Palace Rush mode is a limited-time mode where you can’t use any abilities. Here, the obstacles deal more damage, plus there are no Magnetic Aura, Boosts, or Relay. You can’t even use the skills of your Cookies and Pets. The best thing is you earn a lot of coins here, some of which are stored in the Coin Bank.
Cookies
The game features a total of 20 Cookies, each having a unique ability and Combi Bonus and rarity. You can either unlock them by completing the required in-game conditions or directly buy them, with S tier Cookie costing 149 Crystals, A tier Cookies costing 60 Crystals, and B tier Cookies costing 20 Crystals.
Pets
As if the variety of Cookie characters wasn’t enough, the game also offers 23 unique Pets that you can pair with your Cookies. You can hatch a random pet, and there are three egg-hatching options. Regular hatching costs 5 Crystals, Special hatching costs 25 Crystals and Luxury hatching costs 50 Crystals.
If you unlock a duplicate Pet, it upgrades by one level. Additionally, some pets can also unlocked by purchasing packages or from the Point Shop.
Treasures
Treasures can be obtained once you max out your Cookie or Pet, through Coins, Events, or other methods. These unique treasures provide additional effects that further improve your gameplay. Each Cookie Character and Pet has their Treasure, with unique effects. Additionally, you can equip up to three Treasures to gain more advantage during your run.
But do keep in mind that all the treasure slots aren’t available from the beginning. You can unlock them by meeting the specified conditions. The first treasure slot unlocks at lv1, the second treasure slot can be unlocked by having 6 or more Cookie characters, and for the third treasure slot, you have to reach lv12 in-game to unlock it.
Daily Gifts
The game offers a variety of Daily Gifts each day, like 50,000 Coins, 1,00,000 Coins, 30 Crystals, and more, which resets every week. This is a great way to gather Coins and Crystals if you are a free-to-play player. You can use them to upgrade Cookies, Pets, and Abilities or save enough to purchase Cookies and Hatch Pets.
Cookie Pass
The battle pass system has become very common in many games nowadays, regardless of the genre, and this game is no exception with its version called Cookie Pass, which you can buy for yourself and your friend.
The cost of the pass is very affordable, similar to the CODM battle pass. You can get various rewards from the Pass, including Coins, Life Recharge, Bonus Gift Points, Crystals, various boosts like Fast Start, Energy Boost, and more, Cookies, Pets, and x2 Bonus. The Squirrel Cookie is available at lv30 in the free pass, while the Pancake Frisbee Pet is available at the premium pass along with an exclusive Profile Picture.
Events
The game also has various events such as the Combi Challenge and Daily Run Event. These are the two events available as of now and we can expect more to come in the future. The Combi Challenge is available for 33 days in the game, and you are required to complete missions in the Record Run mode without using a Cookie Relay boost.
To complete the missions, you will need to pair Cookies and Pets that have the best Combi to earn various rewards. While the Daily Run Event offers daily rewards for running. The more you can run in any of the modes, the more rewards you will get. Your run records reset at midnight, and after reaching Stage 3, your run progress will be recorded.
Shop
The in-game shop offers a variety of items, ranging from characters and pets to numerous packages, that you can purchase with real money. You can buy a Starter pack, which includes 1,00,000 coins, 3 Boost sets, 1 Platinum drop, and 65 crystals, available once per account and is very cheap.
Additionally, you can get a Daily Gift box for free from the Daily Gift section. There you can buy a Coin Box for 500 coins and a Crystal Box for 1 Crystals. There are lots of other packs and packages available in the shop, including two New Combi Packs, one featuring Gulab Jamun Cookie and Tiny Table and the other with Kaju Katli Cookie and Parrot Dada.
The game has three premium packages, the Star Cookie Package, the Star Pet Package, and the Record Breaker Package, which are quite costly. Apart from that, you can purchase in-game currencies like Crystals and Coins, which are available at different price points. Moreover, you can also watch ads to earn rewards such as a Random Pet every 3 days, or you can get a Gift box by watching 10 ads.
Random Box
One great element of the game is that you can earn Gift Points by planning the game or by purchasing items from the shop. You can open a Random Gift Box once you collect 100 Gift Points. These gift boxes include various rewards, including Cookie characters, Pet Eggs, Boosts, and Coins of different values.
Additionally, you can also watch an ad to open a special random box, which offers three box options instead of the usual five, and provides rewards in more quantity. For instance, here you can get up to x25,000 coins, whereas normal boxes offer x2,500 to x5,000 Coins at max.
CookieRun India Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks
If you are planning to try out the game, then the tips and tricks in this guide will help ensure a smooth and fun gameplay experience. It covers everything you need to know before starting, from prioritizing Cookie and Pets combos to upgrading Abilities and buying Boosts.
1. Master the game’s movements and controls
Although running titles have very simple controls and movement mechanics, they can become very tricky and challenging as you progress in the Record Run Mode. The gameplay may look easier in the beginning, but you will face numerous obstacles as you progress.
You have to be very alert and make the right move; knowing when to jump, slide or double jump is very crucial. There are some boosts available before very tough obstacles, and missing them can result in significant damage and energy drain. So you need to be quick and precise to not miss any boost or abilities, as the more you run, the better you score.
2. Try to unlock Cookie and Pets that share Combi Bonus
You should prioritize Cookies and Pets that share a Combi Bonus rather than unlocking random Cookies and Pets. For example, pairing Ninja Cookie with Little Ghost gives you a -20% energy drain during your run, making it a better choice. I recommend you to go for Kaju Katli Cookie and Parrot Dada if you want to score high points.
I was lucky enough to hatch Parrot Dada on my first try. With Kaju Kalti Cookie, you can enter Blast Mode by throwing the spear to destroy obstacles and replace them with Kaju Katli Jellies. Additionally, pairing him with Parrot Dada grants a -10% Energy drain, and Parrot Dada provides speed points and creates Power Jellies at regular intervals.
3. Prioritize upgrading all three abilities to max level
Apart from Cookie and Pet combo, you should also give importance to the abilities. They are very essential for scoring more points and running longer. Ability upgrades don’t cost as much as Cookie and Pet upgrades, so you can grind more to upgrade them to their maximum level. Your energy bar will increase, you will get better jellies and the Bonus time will increase a lot.
4. Upgrade your Cookies and Pets to unlock their Treasures
After unlocking your desired Cookie and Pet, the next step is to upgrade them to their maximum level. Once they reach their max level, which is lv8, you will unlock their Treasures. For instance, I got Delightful Snack for maxing out Kaju Katli Cookie and Feather Fan for maxing out Parrot Dada.
Upgrading the hero itself is beneficial, as their abilities improve, but these treasures add more benefits. Like if you equip Delightful Snack, you will get +200 points for every Kaju Katli Jelly, while the Feather Fan increases +5% base speed of your Cookie.
5. Watch ads to receive valuable gifts and pets
If you are a free-to-play player, you should take advantage of the ads, as they offer gifts and rewards, which include Coins, Crystals, and other items. This is also a good opportunity to get Pets.

CookieRun India is a very enjoyable game, perfect to play during your break times. It offers a variety of adorable Cookies and Pets, each with unique abilities and Combi Bonuses that help you throughout the gameplay.
