Flame Puzzle Location
The red triangle on the map above is where to find this puzzle. The map will fill in as you explore this area. You’ll make your way through the narrow catacombs of the Vatican Underworld with very few issues after completing the Sacred Wounds puzzle. Make sure to grab torches and use them to light up the area whenever you can. Eventually, Indy will find a small well.
Head to the right (north) of the well to find the Flame Statue puzzle. You should find yourself in the northwestern-most point of this area.
Flame Puzzle Solution
10 Skeletal statues surround a large coffin. You can walk up to each one and turn a crank to start their flame. Look up above the statues and notice the Roman numerals above them. They are labeled I-X (1-10). The solution is turning on the correct statue flames.

This solution comes from the 10 inscriptions that Indy is tasked with photographing during the Vatican section of the game. Take all 10 photographs to place them on the corkboard in Antonio’s office. Each one has a space on the bottom that is blank space or a lit candle. Unfortunately, these inscriptions are placed out of order, and you need to surmise the correct sequence. The photographs tell a story by following the golden figure in each one. Consult the image above for the correct order.
Complete the puzzle and the tomb will open. Pick up the jawbone off the long-dead corpse. This blunt jawbone weapon has the highest durability of any weapon in the entire game.
