Classes, Ascendancies, & Builds
Though players can freely equip gear, Skills, and Passive Skills (as long as they meet the requirements), in PoE 2, Classes form the foundation of your build. Each Class starts on a different part of the Passive Skill Tree, guiding players towards passives that tend to work well with that archetype.
There are a planned 12 Classes for Path of Exile 2, but only six are currently available in the PoE 2 Early Access. However, the Ascendancy system has already been added, giving each Class a choice between powerful, and permanent, Skill Trees that supplement the normal Passive Skill Tree.
These guides cover the six (and soon 12) Path of Exile 2 Classes and the Ascendancy system, including the basics on the Ascendancy system, recommended builds for each class, and other class-specific tips.
PoE 2 Currencies & Gear
In Path of Exile 2, gear is one of the most important parts of power progression. Of course, you can find powerful gear as drops from enemies in the world, but there is also a kind of Path of Exile 2 Crafting system that is based on a series of Currencies.
Currencies in Path of Exile 2 can upgrade item rarity, add modifiers to a piece of gear, reroll modifiers, and much, much more. There are a few other ways to upgrade your equipment in PoE 2 – these guides explain useful information about the PoE 2 Crafting and upgrade system, the different Currencies you can acquire and craft with, and details on how to farm gear and get useful items like Charms.
Quest & Boss Walkthroughs
On its full release out of Early Access, Path of Exile 2 will feature a total of six Acts in its campaign and an endgame that begins after beating Act 6. In the Early Access, though, we have three Acts that repeat on Cruel difficulty to carry players over to the endgame and Atlas map progression.
Throughout each Act players will be asked to complete quests, defeat bosses, and otherwise progress through the Act story until they reach its final boss and progress to the next. These guides offer walkthroughs for the many quests and bosses that players can encounter throughout Path of Exile 2.
Advanced PoE 2 Tips & Other Guides
Though most Path of Exile 2 players will be satisfied with their experience in the game by understanding the foundations and game systems, some want to go further beyond and truly maximize their experience.
These advanced Path of Exile 2 tips cover things that players should know, but won’t typically matter until the late or endgame. For example, though knowing about Loot Filters is handy when mapping in the Atlas, it doesn’t matter quite as much in the campaign, when you should be picking up virtually everything for Gold. But even then, you should know what to hold onto and what’s worth selling.
