Summary
- Naughty Dog’s latest IP is chock-full of teases throughout its initial reveal trailer.
- Via those teases, fans have already begun piecing together who the main cast of characters will be portrayed by.
- The group is a mix of Naughty Dog familiars, plus some new and interesting faces.
In case you missed it, Naughty Dog dang-near shocked the gaming world when it unveiled its newest IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Project, during Thursday night’s The Game Awards event. Without spoiling anything, it’s decidedly not The Last of Us and shares as much in common with Uncharted as Crash Bandicoot does. In other words, it’s new, and that’s exciting.
That said, the trailer is chock-full of teases of what potentially lies ahead whenever the game does launch. Among those teases is just who exactly will be playing the members of “The Five Aces” that the main character is seemingly in search of, plus the eye-patch-wearing woman that the protagonist is talking to.
Naturally, fans already have some ideas about who those real-life actors may be, and they might be spot on.

Kumail Nanjiani, Tony Dalton And More
To start, we officially know that the main character, Jordan A. Mun, is being played by Tati Gabrielle. That much was revealed in an official Naughty Dog blog post. Gabrielle was part of the Uncharted live-action movie, will be part of The Last of Us live-action Season 2 adaptation, as well as Jade in the Mortal Kombat movie sequel.
We also can surmise that Kumail Nanjiani will be one of the members due to the frequent looks at his character during the trailer, coupled with the near 1:1 resemblance. That character is named Colin Graves.
And as discussed by IGN, the rest of the cast is already being put together by fans. The front and center member of “The Five Aces” appears to be Tony Dalton. The Mexican-American actor is probably most known for playing Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul, though he has a long history of telenovela roles.
Elsewhere, it appears that another character will be portrayed by Stephen A. Chang, who also was Jesse in The Last of Us Part 2. Meanwhile, Kelly Reilly or Ashley Scott are being pinned as the final member, though there’s no concrete answer.
As for the eye-patch woman, it’s possible that Hailey Gross, a writer for The Last of Us Part 2, is her actress. That much is already being discussed by fans, and adding fuel to the fire is the fact that she was in attendance at The Game Awards, as discovered by sleuthy Redditors.
Whichever way you look at it, that’s a really strong cast of characters, and that’s not even considering we haven’t gotten word of any antagonists. Hopefully, when they’re eventually revealed, it won’t be too long before fans can deduce their real-life counterparts.
