A Honkai: Star Rail leak revealed a new detail about Castorice, an upcoming character from the Chrysos Heirs. Starting Version 3.0 in January, Honkai: Star Rail is taking fans to the mysterious planet of Amphoreus, which is said to be Greek-inspired.
Also known as “The Eternal Land,” Amphoreus is Honkai: Star Rail‘s fourth major planet, and it is said that not even Akivili the Trailblaze has reached it during their journeys. A lot is still unknown about the world, other than the fact that a faction called the Chrysos Heirs are responsible for reviving the world after a millennium of strife between mortals and gods.

A new Honkai: Star Rail leak reveals the rumored release schedule for Amphoreus’ newest characters, coming in Version 3.0 and beyond.
One member of the Chrysos Heirs is Castorice, who’s described in Honkai: Star Rail‘s Golden Epic trailer as the guardian of the River of Souls (Styx). Many have theorized that she could be a representation of Greek mythology’s Charon, the transporter of souls in the Underworld, but a post from prominent leaker Seele Leaks found that the character is allegedly one of the Three Titans of Calamity, representing “Thanatos, Hand of Grey.” Aptly, Castorice’s also holds the Coreflame of Death, which is why a flower petal deteriorates in her hands in Honkai: Star Rail‘s “The Worlds You’ve Never Been” teaser trailer.
Honkai: Star Rail’s Castorice’s Connection to Death Explained
In Greek mythology, Thanatos is known as the personification of death, who is known for touching humans who are near the end of their lives and peacefully killing them. The description still matches Castorice’s role as the River of Souls guardian, and the fact that she appears to be able to kill any living thing she touches. While this information does interest many Honkai: Star Rail fans, they also expressed their curiosity in the comment section about what a Coreflame is supposed to be and why the Chrysos Heirs have to Flame-Chase.
Likewise, Honkai: Star Rail fans are also looking forward to Castorice and the rest of the Chrysos Heirs being playable next year. Rumors claimed that Castorice might be a Quantum-type Remembrance character that’s coming out in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2, but this information could still change in the next few months. Nonetheless, it seems like HoYoverse has prepared an exciting adventure in Amphoreus and avid players will soon experience it on January 15, 2025.
