Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, the team behind the Like a Dragon series, revealed yet another title at The Game Awards this week. As we saw in the trailer, Project Century will be set in 1915 Japan and features a new main character.
Now, fans eager for more details may have figured out who’s playing this new lead. As pointed out after the reveal, our mysterious main character bears a striking resemblance to the actor Kazuki Kitamura, who played Kazuma Kiryu in the 2007 Like a Dragon film.

Nothing has been confirmed just yet, but it’s easy to see why fans are jumping to this conclusion. Even if he’s not playing the character, it does seem that he was used as a face model, or even just as inspiration for the new character design.
Right now though, we’ll just have to wait for more details on Project Century. The reveal trailer didn’t give us a whole lot, other than confirming the setting and giving us a quick look at the more action-orientated combat.
However, if there’s one thing we can trust RGG to do, it’s get a ridiculous amount of games out at a terrifyingly fast pace. There’s no release date or window for Project Century just yet, but we might not have to wait too long for an update there.
Yakuza
Yakuza, also known as Like a Dragon, is a series of action-adventure games developed by Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Taking place largely in the fictional Tokyo district of Kamurochō, the games are often crime dramas featuring characters such as Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, and Ichiban Kasuga, and are known for their host of fun minigames such as karaoke.
