One of the most interesting characters in Naruto is his rival, the sole survivor of the Uchiha clan massacre. Sasuke’s life is governed by hate, causing him to drift down a dark path where the only person who can pull him out is a friend he wants to cut all ties with.

After leaving the Leaf Village to learn under Orochimaru, Sasuke honed his skills and became stronger than ever before. Though, after a point, it was clear that he had surpassed his mentor. It was time to leave.

Orochimaru didn’t take this well, engaging in a battle with the body he wanted to inhabit. However, Sasuke’s mastery over the Sharingan was too strong, and he managed to reverse Orochimaru’s technique and seal the heinous villain in the very curse mark he’d placed on Sasuke.

7 With Taka VS Killer Bee

On A Mission From The Akatsuki To Capture The Eight-Tails

After joining the Akatsuki, Sasuke embarked on a mission for the Akatsuki to capture the Eight Tails. Killer Bee was no joke, but Sasuke had a powerful team to rely on. The combined might of Taka was too much to bear, and Killer Bee fell after a short but glorious fight.

While it seemed that Bee was overwhelmed, he managed to pull one final trick on the group to ease the pain of his loss. He fooled the group into thinking that a piece of the Eight Tails’ tentacle was Bee’s body. To make things worse, the Raikage was incensed by this attempt to harm Bee, triggering a chain of events that caused a ton of pain for both Naruto and Sasuke.

6 VS Danzo Shimura

Took Revenge For The Uchiha Massacre By Killing The Puppetmaster Behind The Scenes

Danzo is one of the most evil characters in Naruto. His devious planning behind the scenes caused a ton of grief for the villagers, with this villain giving the go-ahead for the Uchiha massacre while capturing members of the clan for his twisted experiments. After learning the truth about Itachi’s act, Sasuke relishes the opportunity to take revenge on the power-hungry Danzo.

The battle that ensued showed just how obsessed Danzo was with the Sharingan, using Izanagi multiple times to rewrite his death. However, he eventually ran out of eyes, with a failed attempt at taking Karin hostage spelling his doom as a cold-hearted Sasuke took him out for good.

5 VS Deidara

A Surprisingly Riveting Fight Where Deidara’s Hate For The Uchiha Governs His Motivations

Deidara is a character who seems a bit too rash for his own good, only for him to turn into one of the best members of the Akatsuki. Given how most of the villains in this group were cool-headed, it was nice to see Deidara’s hot-headedness up the ante when it came to the aggressiveness he displayed in battle.

This is apparent during his fight against Sasuke, where he proclaims his hate for the Uchiha and how they always looked down on him. His explosions reached a fever pitch before Deidara sacrificed himself with a Hail Mary attack that would’ve killed Sasuke had it not been for a timely Summon that served as a life-saving meat shield.

4 VS A (Raikage)

A Brutal Battle Against The Raikage Where The Powers Of The Mangekyo Sharingan Are On Full Display

• Victor: None (battle interrupted)

After infiltrating the Five Kage Summit, the Raikage found a golden opportunity to punish the man who hurt his brother. However, Sasuke’s Mangekyo Sharingan meant that he could use some elite abilities to fight this powerful warrior on equal footing.

He whipped out the Susanoo and Amaterasu to form an ultimate defense during their fight, his mastery over both techniques increasing throughout the battle. However, the Raikage surprised him by throwing all caution out of the window and sacrificing his arm to throw a damaging punch. While the rest of the Kage interrupted the battle, it’s possible that Sasuke would’ve been flattened if the battle had gone on for longer.

3 VS Naruto Uzumaki (Round 1)

An Iconic Clash Where Naruto Severed His Bonds And Left The Village For Good

The Sasuke Recovery Mission ends with a bombastic battle where both Naruto and Sasuke duke it out to settle their differences. Naruto was willing to break every bone in Sasuke’s body to bring him back to the Leaf Village, while the latter wanted to attain immense power at all costs after being humiliated by Itachi and outclassed by Naruto.

The battle that follows is intense, with both characters smashing each other with powerful attacks. Even after Naruto’s lung is pierced by the Chidori, the Nine-Tails bring him back from the brink of death to take Sasuke by surprise, who must trigger a Cursed Seal transformation to finally come out on top.

2 VS Itachi Uchiha

A Fearsome Clash Between Brothers A Long Time In The Making

The battle between Sasuke and Itachi was a long time in the making. Sasuke’s goal of killing his brother was tantalizingly close, but it was clear that his brother would’ve outclassed him in a fair fight. However, not only was Itachi suffering from an illness, but he harbored so much love for his younger brother that there was no way he’d land the killing blow on him.

Instead, he used this fight as an excuse to deplete Sasuke’s chakra to bait Orochimaru into coming out, completely removing his toxic presence from his beloved brother before displaying the powers of the Mangekyo Sharingan. The battle ends with one final poke on Sasuke’s forehead as Itachi apologizes for his death before falling to the ground.

1 VS Naruto Uzumaki (Round 2)

The Final Fight Of Naruto Where Sasuke Finally Acknowledges His Rival

After Kaguya was sealed and the war was all but over, Sasuke revealed his true plan of killing all the Kages and starting anew. It was a brutal plan that Naruto opposed, leading to a fateful rematch where the duo would throw down with their strongest techniques.

What follows is a spectacular battle featuring two of the strongest characters in Naruto‘s history. From regular close-quarters combat to massive attacks in their strongest forms, both fighters put everything on the line before depleting all of their chakra. However, they had to unleash one final attack, with the Rasengan and Chidori clashing once again as both fighters lost their dominant arms. While this fight could’ve been a draw, what cemented Naruto’s victory is the fact that Sasuke admitted defeat and accepted Naruto for the first time. He agreed to abandon his plans and follow Naruto’s example, finally walking the path of an honorable shinobi.
