Tips & Tricks For Playing Jeff The Land Shark In Marvel Rivals
Jeff the Land Shark is a healer, and he’s incredibly good at what he does. He’s definitely a black sheep in the game’s roster — one you won’t fully recognize until you really dig into playing him. He’s got multiple healing abilities that can be highly useful for any team during a match. Here are some of the best tips and tricks to try when playing Jeff the Land Shark in Marvel Rivals:
- Sticking to his role, Jeff needs to recover his teammates’ HP as much as he can. His Joyful Splash ability knows no bounds — you can go as far as you like across the arena and still target your friends for healing. So, choose a spot that keeps you out of the enemy’s sight while still allowing you to heal your squad. Once they detect your location, you can use Hide and Seek to go undercover and swim to other spots easily.
- Another thing you can do to save your allies is to use the Healing Bubble and Hide and Seek together. Players can hop into situations where their teammates are getting weaker, drop healing bubbles, and then dive back underground. Since you can only push out six bubbles at a time, it’s best to stay underground to recharge the ability. You can even launch healing bubbles toward friends and send enemies flying for a short moment in highly competitive ranges.
- While Jeff the Land Shark is mainly a Strategist, he can also act as a Duelist in the game. The combo of his Aqua Burst ability and Hide and Seek can really give opponents a tough time. He can shoot water splashes that hit hard, then hop back under the surface where he takes less damage from incoming projectiles. The best part is, while hiding, his passive ability (Obvious Cuteness) recharges his health, making his comeback even more dangerous.
- Being below ground doesn’t make Jeff the Land Shark immune to damage — opponents can still hit him through his dorsal fin. While he can heal himself when down (making him resistant to shooters), the real threat comes from superheroes who can fly and follow him to unexpected heights. So, you’ll want to let other teammates handle them, allowing you to focus on supporting your squad.
- Players can give their friend Groot an incredible advantage using the Team-Up ability — New Friends. In a match with him, while you take down enemies using your normal attack from his shoulders, using Joyful Splash anywhere can also recover Groot’s HP, even though he’s not the target.

Best Time To Use Jeff The Land Shark’s Ultimate
As you might have already guessed, Jeff the Land Shark’s Ultimate is absolutely insane. Unlike other strategists, he can devour massive clusters of enemies and throw them off a cliff, which gives his teammates a great edge in the match. Since his Ultimate takes a long time to charge, you’ll want to use it at the right moment. The best time to use Jeff’s Ultimate is when you see the match intensifying with lots of foes gathered in one spot. Simply eat them up — especially heavy units like Venom, Groot, and Hulk. Their health is the highest, and they’re tough tanks to handle, so capturing them can really change the game for your squad.
One disadvantage of his Ultimate is that it can also swallow allies. If not spat out at the right moment, it can throw everyone away at a distance. So, you’ll need to master his Ultimate by keeping an eye on the timer, putting teammates back into action while dumping enemies to death. Also, when heroes are under his jaws, Jeff the Land Shark can affect enemies’ HP and charge up friends, making this ability perfect for when you see your squad losing control of the match.
