Indie Games That Became Major Success Stories
Though most only see a modest amount of success, some indie games have etched their way into video game history by becoming must-have titles.
The Sub Rosa, Chapter 10 of Monument Valley 3, is the final quest in the Noor’s storyline until new content drops. Finishing this level helps you find nature’s light, needed to bring the Lighthouse back to life. But, with its challenging optical illusion puzzles, it might give some players a hard time. Keep reading this guide to learn how to solve The Sub Rosa Puzzle (Level 10) in Monument Valley 3.
How To Solve The Sub Rosa Puzzle In Monument Valley 3
The Sub Rosa has four parts (or unique puzzles) in Monument Valley 3. Here’s how to solve each one quickly.
Part 1: The Ancient Place
The first part of Chapter 10 is all about solving a complexed riddle involving some giant white flowers and an ancient monument. The trick here is to adjust the flower’s leaves to create a path that lets you climb to the top of the building (which you can do using a monument-shaped pillar).
- When you enter level 10, you’ll find Noor standing on a cliff in a rainy and foggy, mysterious setting. Simply step on the floor button to teleport to the ancient site. Once there, pull up the pillar on the right with three orange circles, causing the giant flower to bloom and spread its sky blue leaves into the path. Carefully position the leaves so they connect the lower and upper platforms. Then, cross the leaves and head through the door above.
- From there, you’ll be elevated to the second building. Fully pull up the pillar on the left to create another leaf track and continue upward. This time, the flower’s thorn will block your way. Adjust the leaves again to match the platform, climb the stairs, reposition the leaves, and walk up to the top room to enter.
Remember, you can only fine-tune the leaves while standing on the giant flower’s stem (blue area); otherwise, it won’t work.
- Finally, you’ll reach the last building, where there are two giant flowers and adjusters. These flowers have prickly obstacles, so you’ll need to play with their leaves a little more. Start with the left flower, which has a thorn, and line up the lowest leaves of both flowers to get to the right flower. Since the right flower also has a block, arrange its leaves in a half-circle, walk onto its stem, and then align the leaves of both flowers again. Shift to the left flower, pull both flowers fully up, and use the circular path on the left flower to go above the stem. Follow the leaf path to the second flower and enter the door above.

Part 2: Inside The Ancient Monument
The second part introduces yet another relaxing puzzle with soothing pastel colors, bringing calm to your senses. The goal here is to trigger all three floor buttons and enter the pink door at the top of the structure.
- Start by standing on the pastel green track ahead of you, then move the block with three circles south. Walk over to the purple block platform ahead and shift the block east. Step back onto the pastel green track, align it with the first button on the right, and tap it.
- This will bring in new objects. Drag the movable block below, then rotate the yellow gear in the middle to the right, and head to the pastel purple base. Drag the block with three red circles above, and move the gear back to the left. Next, climb the purple wall and press the second button at the top.
- Ascend the stairs to the other side of the wall, turn the block above, walk down to the pastel purple base under the gear, lower the movable block, rotate the cog left, and activate the third button on the monument’s small balcony.
- Run back to the gear’s base using the pastel green track, rotate the cog to the right, drag the movable block above, reach the wall, and walk up to the pink door at the top.

Part 3: Historic Landmarks
This part has two puzzles, each showcasing aesthetically pleasing architectural puzzles. In the first riddle, as Noor, you need to activate all five light green buttons and exit through the top pink door.
- Travel to the second purple track, use the movable block (with three light green circles) to align the structure, and press the first floor button on the right.
- Rotate the gear right, step up the purple bridge, drag down the movable block, walk towards the scared geometric figure (the green one) on the right side, turn the cog left, run to the geometric figure on the left, and press the second floor button.
- Next, move the gear left and walk to press the button on the wall.
- Teleport to the bridge, drag the block above, and trigger the middle button.
- Shift the cog right, step on the slide, pull down the block, move forward, and activate the last button.
- Now, a door will appear. To enter, get on the slide, move the block upward, get off, turn the gear to the left, walk on the slide, and hop into the pink door above.
Now, you’ll reach the heart of the Ancient Place, where nature’s light thrives. Here, you’ll need to
press two buttons and enter the floating landmark
. However, this section can be challenging for some fans, as the optical illusion is quite difficult to grasp. With a bit of understanding of sacred geometry, you can finish this section. Here’s how:
- Shift the lavender-colored wheel to the right, walk on the slide, and turn it into a circle by rotating left. Stand on the geometric sign that matches the one near the wheel, shift right, and press the button.
- Now, stand on the second geometric sign, form an optical circle, and tap on the similar sign on the lower side of the circle. Once you reach there, move the bridge one step to the left, move ahead, and activate the button.
- Lastly, return to the bridge, tap on the sign that matches the lone structure on the left, turn the wheel one step to the left to align the bridge, step back slightly on the bridge, turn the wheel left again, and click on the door to the other side to enter.
Part 4: Nature’s Light
To complete the final part of the Sub Rosa Puzzle in
Monument Valley 3,
you must capture the light in the staff given to you by your master. This will allow you to illuminate the Lighthouse. After solving all parts of the puzzle, Noor will arrive near the Nomad’s Flower. Move forward and interact with the flower — it will release a light similar to what you experienced with the mentor. Finally, create a sacred geometric figure and place the light into the staff to end Chapter 10 of
Monument Valley 3
.
