In Attack on Titan Revolution, players are thrown into a game with very little to no instruction on what to do. Players who know little about the anime or manga might not know too much about what Attack on Titan is all about or how to complete objectives and level up.
Mission Objectives
In missions, players will be prompted to kill a certain number of titans along with some other objectives. The objectives will be shown in the upper left of the screen along with the numbers needed for completion. Some missions will also grant extra gold, luck or XP, which will be labeled before starting.
Sometimes the extra objectives will be harder to complete when the player is at a lower level. One example of these more difficult-to-complete tasks could be “Don’t Refill [0/1]”, which means the player can’t refill their swords or ODM gas at all. This is more difficult when the player’s ODM gear isn’t upgraded.
How To Upgrade
To upgrade your gear and player’s abilities, you will need to find the blacksmith in the game lobby before entering any missions. The blacksmith is located behind the large sign that says “Equipment” and is an NPC named EVO Yaeger that all players can interact with.
Everything that is upgradable on your character will appear when interacting with EVO. This includes things like ODM gear upgrades, player skill upgrades, perk upgrades, prestige, and artifact equipment. Upgrading ODM gear is extremely important for a player to level up and become stronger.
To earn coins, complete missions as often as possible. Most upgrades can range in price, starting at 500 gold per upgrade and increasing up to about 170,000 gold.
Which Upgrades Are Most Useful
Upgrading ODM damage is extremely important for taking down Titans, and can be applied to the basic damage upgrade and crit damage upgrade. ODM gear gas will not run out as quickly as your blade reloads will, so upgrading the durability is essential for a long-lasting mission. This upgrade can also help players complete missions like the one that was mentioned earlier.
To upgrade your ODM gas, search for the gas upgrade. The blade durability and gas upgrades will give players the upper hand in both killing titans and time.
Other Upgrades
Upgrading skills is also very useful for players. These upgrades can help more with things like damage, durability, longevity, and even special abilities or attacks. Special attacks are obtained through upgrading things under the skills category with the blacksmith; these can be obtained by collecting skill points and gold, which are both collected by completing missions.
The number of skill points you have will be displayed next to the word “skills” in the format “skills [SP #]”. When viewing the skill tree, you will notice that a skill is available once there is an “unlock” option. The skills that you unlock are listed at the bottom of your screen when playing a mission. They will each have a corresponding number or button that will activate them once pressed, and only five skills are allowed to be equipped at a time.
