How To Find Every Stele In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle

Like the Strange Inscriptions in the Vatican, the Gizeh section of Indiana Jones And The Great Circle has ten Stelae to collect, with cryptic clues to the mysterious Nephilim Order. Nawal needs four to smuggle safely to the Cairo Museum, but if you’re feeling adventurous (and why wouldn’t you be?) you can track down all ten to keep them safe from the Third Reich.

Indiana Jones And The Great Circle: Strange Inscriptions Location Guide

The Strange Inscriptions throughout the Vatican hint at a secret history hidden from the world in Indiana Jones And The Great Circle.

Side quests, locked doors, and hidden chambers all stand between you and these carved treasures, so if you need help completing the collection, never fear; this guide will lead you to them.

Quest Stelae

Three Stelae can be recovered as rewards for completing quests. See our walkthroughs for those individual missions, linked below:

The Protector Stele is obtained as part of the main storyline; the other two Fieldwork missions are optional, but strongly recommended. You can’t start A Savage Predicament until after you’ve infiltrated and escaped the Nazi Compound.

Vehicle Depot Stelae

The Vehicle Depot is the restricted area closest to the center of the map, west of the Recreation Area. Approach from the north to enter a large tent without having to pass through the fence or a checkpoint.

Harvest Stele

Inside the tent, check the back of the large truck in the center to find a chest with a combination lock. The table to the left of the truck has a note with the combination: 0805. Opening the chest will allow you to take the Harvest Stele from inside.

The table with the note, as well as another to the right of the truck, each have cash boxes that can be broken open with a hammer, wrench, or other tool, and contain 100 Reichsmarks each.

Sebek Stele

Leave the tent by the north exit, the same way you came in, and travel straight east. You’ll come to a sealed tomb entrance. Take one of the sledgehammers lying outside the entryway and smash the wall to reveal the tunnel beyond.

At the end of the tunnel, use the lighter to burn the straw barrier blocking the door, then use your whip to lower yourself toward the pit of spikes. From here, you can see a hidden platform below where you came in; swing to it and pull the lever on the wall to open the gate above.

Climb back up the whip and swing to the open gate; the Sebek Stele is on the left in the room beyond.

Sphinx Temple Ruins Stelae

indy finds the death stele in the sphinx temple ruins in indiana jones and the great circle.

The ruins east of the Great Sphinx – directly between the Workers’ Area and the Village – hide two Stelae that you’ll need the Lighter in order to retrieve.

Death Stele

The southern part of the ruins consists of several square chambers, with a few guards patrolling. Make your way to the back, where you’ll find a staircase leading to a dead-end. Look at the floor near the wall on the left side of the room; there is some straw that you can burn with the lighter, revealing a narrow passage to crawl through.

On the other side is a tricky swinging segment. You need to swing across the chasm, then quickly latch the whip onto the rafter ahead of you before you fall. This will allow you to reach the far side, where the Death Stele waits to be collected.

Yes, you have to do the swinging trick again to get back to the entrance.

Giant Stele

Head northeast from the lower ruins until you see a lone guard seated. You can ignore him if you want, or knock him out and steal his cookies. Behind him and to the northeast is a shaft that you can climb down using the whip.

There are some pillars around the shaft that make it easier to spot amidst the rest of the sand and rubble.

In the chamber at the bottom, look for another bundle of straw to burn, letting you crawl through a tunnel. The Giant Stele is within easy reach on the other side.

Indiana Jones And The Great Circle: Achievement Guide

There are 45 achievements to unlock in Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, some of which require you to do unexpected things.

Khafre Excavation Stelae

Two Stelae can be found at the Khafre Excavation Site on the west side of the map and the attached Mortuary Temple Ruins.

Ra Stele

Don your disguise of choice and go to the Khafre Excavation Site. There are many tunnels to explore here; the one you want is a large sandstone entrance west of the main tent.

Go inside and use the sledgehammer leaning against the wall to smash the loose stones to the right. In the chamber beyond, use your Lighter to ignite the oil lamp on the right and the straw to the left.

Crawl through the tunnel that the straw was blocking and pull the chain at the end of the corridor to open the locked gate by the lamp. Crawl back through the tunnel and pass through to find another double-rafter swing challenge. Once again, you’ll need to quickly whip the second rafter while you’re in the air to catch it before you fall.

This pit requires you to swing in from the side before you’re in position to actually leap across; eat fruit to fill up your stamina so that you can take as much time as you need to get your jump right.

Once you’re on the other side, you can go up the stairs to unlock a door that leads back to the surface, but you don’t need to do so right away; you still have a Stele to collect. Move out onto the narrow ledge to the right of where you landed. With a running start, you can jump across the chasm to reach the open door on the other side. The Ra Stele is on the floor in the sunlit room beyond.

Victory Stele

Go to the Mortuary Temple Ruins at the southeast edge of the Khafre digsite. You’ll see an unguarded tomb covered in warning signs in German. If you can’t read German, you’ll find out what the signs are about upon stepping inside; the tomb is infested with scorpions.

Take a torch from the basket just inside the entrance and light it. Swing the flame at the scorpions whenever they get too close until you have a path to the straw barrier at the rear of the chamber. Burn it and crawl through the tunnel.

Amon Stele

The final Stele is in Voss’ possession – he keeps it in a locked room below his office. You’ll need the Wehrmacht Key in order to get it, which is only obtainable after you’ve infiltrated the Nazi Compound once. That means you’ll have to go back for the Amon Stele, since you won’t have the key on your first visit.

How To Get The Wehrmacht Key

The Wehrmacht Key is in a guard tower at the checkpoint east of the compound, where you emerge after escaping the collapsed tunnels. You can get in by climbing the back of the tower with your whip, then making your way to the open window at the front. There’s only a single guard inside, and you’ll get the key when you pick up the Wehrmacht Uniform on the first floor.

Where Is The Amon Stele?

Return to Voss’s Office in the tower of the Nazi Compound. Having the Wehrmacht Uniform will make this much easier. You can enter by the main gate to the west, or unlock the gate near the eastern checkpoint’s washing area to get in near the Detention Center.

The storeroom is on the first floor, all the way to the rear. Once you use the Wehrmacht Key to get in, the Stele will be on a shelf to your left. Don’t forget to collect the Medicine Bottle and other pickups in the room before you leave.

If you need a hasty exit, there’s an open window in the storeroom that you can escape through. It’s a bit of a drop, but not enough that you’ll take damage as long as you jump to the scaffolding below first.

Once you have all ten Stelae, put them in the box by the delivery truck outside Nawal’s tent. Her agent will reward you with an Ancient Relic.
