Crunchyroll revealed their acquisition of various anime titles set to be available on the streaming service, as well as their acquisition of the theatrical rights to Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK for select territories, at CCXP 2024 at SP Expo held in São Paulo, Brazil on Thursday, December 5.
Fans who attended were also treated to brand-new trailers for the upcoming 3rd season of Fire Force, the highly-anticipated original MAPPA anime Zenshu and a teaser for the upcoming series, To Be a Hero, set to hit Crunchyroll in January. World Premiere Trailers Revealed at the Event
Crunchyroll Also Showed Trailers For Highly-Anticipated Titles
At their panel, Crunchyroll also got fans hyped with showings of brand-new “world premiere” trailers of the upcoming third season of Fire Force, the upcoming ZENSHU anime which follows an animator who is struggling to get anything done on her studio’s new project – with a certain twist; and finally, a teaser trailer for To Be Hero X was shared, showcasing the various teams working on the project around the world. The story is set in a world of superheroes, where “trust” is the defining factor of a hero’s abilities.
If people believe a hero can fly, they will gain the ability to do so, but on the other hand, if a hero with special powers loses the trust of the public, they stand to lose their abilities as well. Trust is collected as data, and every two years, the top heroes compete in a hero tournament, with their performance having an impact on their trust value. The number 1 hero is granted the title of “X”. The upcoming series is produced by animation studio BeDream, while Link Click director Li Haolin takes on the director’s seat. The eXciting new series hits Crunchyroll in January 2025.
In addition to the To Be Hero X trailer, Crunchyroll will be streaming the second season of Unnamed Memory will hit Crunchyroll this January and the platform has also obtained the theatrical rights for the dark epic fantasy omnibus movie Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK for select territories in Latin America, including Brazil, North America, EMEA, and Australia / New Zealand. The film, which is a compilation of the final episodes which adapted the last five chapters of the Attack on Titan manga by Hajime Isayama, is set for release in early 2025.
