World of Warcraft Reveals Patch 11.0.7 Class Balance Adjustments

Summary

  • Class tuning in World of Warcraft Patch 11.0.7 buffs underperforming specializations in PvE and PvP.
  • The upcoming Siren Isle content patch brings a new zone and quality-of-life improvements.
  • Changes include buffs to various specializations and some nerfs to specific abilities.

World of Warcraft just revealed a round of class tuning coming in Patch 11.0.7, primarily in the form of buffs for underperforming specializations in both PvE and PvP. These gameplay adjustments will go live along with World of Warcraft Patch 11.0.7 on December 17.

Siren Isle, the last content patch of World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 1, is coming soon, bringing with it some quality-of-life improvements, character customization options, and a brand-new zone full of activities and rewards. Blizzard recently released the patch notes for this World of Warcraft update, but beyond describing buffs to a handful of racial abilities, there were no class balance adjustments to be found in the blog post.

World of Warcraft Fans Finally Find Secret 20th Anniversary Mount

World of Warcraft fans finally crack a series of secret puzzles for the 20th anniversary event, unlocking a highly-desired mount in the process.

Now, World of Warcraft has revealed the class tuning that will accompany this patch. The vast majority of these changes are buffs. World of Warcraft gave Unholy Death Knight, Havoc Demon Hunters, Devastation Evokers, Marksmanship Hunters, Holy Paladins and Priests, Restoration Shamans, and Affliction Warlocks a power up in PvE content, and over a dozen specializations also got buffs specific to PvP.

Of course, a few classes caught nerfs as well. Despite the fact that they received buffs to compensate, Lightsmith Holy Paladin’s Tempered in Battle no longer activates in hard crowd control in PvE, and the damage for Windwalker’s Blackout Kick and Hellcaller Destruction Warlock’s Wither were both reduced specifically in PvP. The only class specialization to just get nerfs was the Augmentation Evoker, and even then, only for some abilities in PvP.

These class changes will go into effect on December 17, alongside the Siren Isle content update for World of Warcraft. Considering these adjustments are mostly numerical buffs, World of Warcraft fans who play the affected classes likely won’t have any of their talent points reset due to this patch, especially since no nodes are moving around on their trees.

Outside a few potential hotfixes, this is probably the last round of class balance World of Warcraft will see until Patch 11.1, Undermined. Considering The War Within has been running with an eight-week cadence between patches, current estimations after accounting for the holiday season put World of Warcraft Patch 11.1 around mid or late February 2025. This theoretical date is corroborated by the runtime for the second Plunderstorm event in World of Warcraft, which is currently set to run from January 14 until February 18, right in line with this projected release window.
