Kurama is one of the main characters in the Naruto series and certainly a powerhouse. Although introduced to fans as an antagonistic character, Kurama went on to help Naruto greatly later down the line. At first, Kurama was opportunistic, looking for ways to harm Naruto so that he could eventually break free. Eventually, however, after witnessing Naruto’s painful journey, had a change of heart and these two formed a very strong bond. In many ways, Kurama is the closest bond that Naruto has ever had, but, unfortunately, in the Boruto series, this bond was effectively shattered. Now, Kurama has been reborn inside of Naruto’s daughter, Himawari, and fans know that he is going to be extremely powerful with her as well.

That said, Kurama’s previous level of strength is certainly not enough for Himawari to stand a chance against the major threats that exist in the world of Boruto. For this reason, fans expect Kurama to be much stronger than before and get a power up.

It is safe to say that Kurama displayed incredible strength in the Boruto series. At the end of Naruto, it was already an established fact that Kurama was the strongest of the nine Tailed Beasts. His strength was absolutely immaculate, and he could take on just about every other Tailed Beast combined by himself. This suggested that Kurama’s strength was far greater than the others, and this is what made Naruto very strong as well. Kurama’s strength continued to grow, especially when fans found out that he could also harness sage energy, and on top of that, could also be powered up by Six Paths chakra.

Following the awakening of Naruto’s Six Paths Powers, Kurama was on a completely different level when compared to the other Tailed Beasts. In the Boruto era, Kurama was just as impressive, being able to stand his own ground against the likes of the Otsutsuki without much trouble. In fact, in the battle against Momoshiki, Kurama did exceedingly well. Although the duo struggled against Isshiki, they eventually came up with an exciting power-up that saw them reach the highest level seen in the Boruto series. Essentially, they tapped into the power of Baryon Mode, which saw them use their own energy as raw materials for accessing a newer form of energy, similar to nuclear fusion.

This higher form of energy was so great that even the likes of Isshiki could not keep up. Kurama was at his very peak when this happened, but, unfortunately, this power was only temporary and it eventually ran out, leading to Kurama’s death.

Why Kurama Needs To Get Stronger

Fans knew that Kurama’s death was not going to be permanent. Although it was unclear how he would return, there was a strong belief among the fans that Kurama was way too important to be completely killed off. Finally, when Kurama did return in Two Blue Vortex, fans knew that his role was going to be incredibly important. Fans were revealed to Kurama in his baby form, inside Himawari. It was then revealed that somehow, Himawari had now become a Jinchuriki without the Tail Beast ever being sealed inside her. Kurama respawns inside her and now works with her as a part of a team.

Right now, Kurama is quite weak. This is largely down to the fact that he is not in his adult form, and at the same time, Himawari is not an adult either. They are both far from their primes, which means there’s only so much strength that they can put out. This was clear during the battle against Jura, and it just went to show that they had to do much better if they want to defeat stronger enemies later down the line.

It is clear that Kurama was impressive in the battle against Jura to a certain level. But, if Kurama is to truly keep up with the stronger foes that exist now in the Boruto world, such as Jura, and other Otsutsuki, then, he most certainly has to gain greater power.

Furthermore, if Himawari’s strength is also lower than that of what Naruto possessed before receiving the Six Paths Powers, then, she is hardly going to be relevant in the story. Against stronger enemies, he would not be able to do anything, and getting this major power boost of Kurama is going to be absolutely useless. Taking all these things into consideration, it is easy for fans to see that Kurama certainly does need a power-up, and through this way, Himawari would also gain a great strength boost which would allow her to match strong fighters such as Jura later down the line.

Kurama’s Next Major Power-Up

Kurama Could Tap Into Baryon Mode Again

Fans might be wondering about what Kurama’s next power-up could be. The answer to the question has already been provided by the author. Kurama is incredibly strong and there is absolutely no denying that. And, fans have also seen him at his strongest, which was when he tapped into the power of Baryon Mode. The issue with Baryon Mode was that it eventually drained Kurama’s powers. When all his chakra ran out, he ended up dying. But, if Kurama possesses higher control over his chakra and much greater efficiency, then, it is possible to utilize Baryon Mode better without actually dying. Similar to how Naruto survived despite having used his chakra as a kernel for Baryon Mode, Kurama can do the same, provided he can improve efficiency over his chakra.

The fun fact here is that Kurama recently stated to Himawari that the synchronization these two individuals possess is higher than he has had with any other Jinchuriki including Naruto. This essentially means that Kurama can improve the efficiency of his chakra output easily and use the risk of dying from utilizing techniques such as Baryon Mode. On top of that, Kurama is more one with Himawari than he was with Naruto, meaning higher output of chakra should come much easier to them and the power level in general should be much higher too. This is also clear from the fact that Himawari was able to heal from all her injuries in an instant and that she was able to bestow the power of healing to others as well.

Naruto held great healing powers as well, but clearly, Himawari’s powers are superior in that regard. As such, the next power-up for Himawari is most likely going to be Baryon Mode, which means Himawari will have this power at her disposal without running the risk of dying. This would certainly make her a massive force in the world of Naruto. It would also make Kurama incredibly relevant as a main character, and give him the fear factor once again. Fans absolutely cannot wait to see what the author does next with Kurama and hopefully, he gets the respect he deserves.
