As it turns out, if you ever want to make a particular character popular, give them a supporting role in a hit show. That’s what’s happened for Viktor in League of Legends, as the Champion’s pick rate has skyrocketed since season 2 finished mere weeks ago.
Arcane is one of the best things that’s ever happened to League of Legends. Already a massive MOBA, the Netflix series pushed the multiplayer game much further into the mainstream, introducing millions of viewers to Runeterra and the eclectic cast of LoL Champions.
Jinx and Vi, the already-popular central protagonists of Arcane, became even moreso after the premiere in 2021. Now Viktor is enjoying some time in the limelight, positively exploding in popularity in the fantasy game.
Per analytics aggregator LoLaytics, you can see that Viktor’s pick rate since the end of November has skyrocketed. He’s one of the most played Champions for the time-being, something he definitely wasn’t in the months prior.
It’s not just his heroic role in Arcane that’s made a difference though, to be fair. He got a rework and a rather large buff earlier in the year too – seem Riot Games figured our boy was about to set some hearts ablaze on Netflix and wanted him in good shape.
