Fans are worried that Jo Wyatt isn’t returning, but this hasn’t been confirmed
A change in actor hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but it’s hard to deny that Ciri sounds very different in this cinematic trailer. This has led many to wonder if she’s been recast for The Witcher 4, perhaps to go for a more mature take on the character.
We’ve reached out to CD Projekt Red and Wyatt’s agent to see if we can get confirmation on this. We’ll update this report with any response we receive.

The Witcher 4 Is Following Cyberpunk 2077’s Mistakes
The Witcher 4 needs to decide if it wants Cyberpunk 2077’s toxic hype cycle.
At the very least, we now know that Ciri is indeed the protagonist. This was largely assumed after the teaser image for The Witcher 4 showed a medallion that was different to Geralt’s, suggesting that he won’t be the lead. This was further supported by CDPR referring to the next Witcher game as being part of a new trilogy, and a good starting point for new players.
The trailer didn’t give us a release date, but CDPR has hinted at one. A couple of weeks ago, joint CEO Michał Nowakowsk said that the team doesn’t want to reveal a game when it’s more than two years away from release. With The Witcher 4 being revealed last night, then that should mean it will be a 2026 release at the very worst.
The Witcher 4 is an upcoming RPG from Polish developer CD Projekt Red, and codenamed Polaris. Other than it being in development, little is known as to the plot, although CDPR has said it will start a new, multi-game saga.
